I had a wonderful stay at Mata Nativa in Trancoso. The location is truly special — surrounded by lush nature, with trees, monkeys, and even a river flowing through the property. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, with no noise at all, making it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The staff go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, and the new management under Fabiano deserves a special mention — he is an excellent and attentive host. The pousada is conveniently located within walking distance of both Nativo’s Beach and the Quadrado, but they also offer rides if you prefer. Breakfast is excellent, varied, and thoughtfully prepared to please different nationalities. One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary canoe ride along the Trancoso River, guided by a staff member. I went on a sunny day and the views were absolutely stunning — an unforgettable experience. Overall, Mata Nativa offers the perfect balance of comfort, nature, and warm hospitality. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Trancoso.

Above average breakfast with extras (taking into account average Bahia hotels) such as quiche, bruschettas and more. Super helpful, relaxed and efficient staff. I was allowed early check-in without a problem. The grounds of the pousada are extensive, with a fitness, relaxation and spa areas from where you can see the river. The beach is 7 minutes walk away, and if you go to the nearest beach lounge, they have an arrangement whereby you get a beach towel and a 50 reais discount. The place is Ze Barbudo and is excellent.

The staff and the owners were amazing ! We arrived very late after a very bad flight and we found food for us in the room that was very thoughtful! The breakfast is amazing and the staff are very helpful, the room was exceptionally clean every time! The owners are wonderful, helpful and easy to talk with. We speak only French and English and it was amazing that they spoke both languages :D

The staff was super friendly and attended is with every request we had. Very kindly and paying attention to every possible necessity.

A perfect combination for Trancoso - walking distance to the Quadrado and the beach. I loved the peace and tranquility of the jungle setting. Amazing breakfast.

More expensive than other places we've stayed in Bahia.

The decoration of the facility were fabulous they use local hand made art and craft.The nature were what made us to choose this place, we love all the plants, trees, birds and monkeys around the pousada. We felt were inside a little jungle. It was an excellent location it was so close to the beach, also to the Quadrado.🐒🏖🏝

great location between village and beach. excellent breakfast. Irina was a great host and even lent us the caipirinha equipment.

the king suite did not have a king bed. the property had a slightly rundown feel to it.

Exceptional setting, very smiling and available staff. Excellent local food, close to the sea. A little corner of paradise that I recommend!!
