Very nice place. The food is good and perfect place to forget all the stress

The only issue is the ladies bathroom on the restaurant where we eat breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights and never find hand soap and no paper in dryer machine

If you're looking for an all-inclusive, sunny resort in winter, with a pool, gym, and great beaches, then I do feel this resort offers a good deal. In my case, I stayed after having travelled much of the rest of Cape Verde, so I found there wasn't much to do and the cultural elements were missing. If, however, you're just looking to relax, do nothing by the pool/beach, with little care for activities or culture outside of the resort, and all for quite good value, then this resort will likely appeal. I imagine it's great for young families for these reasons. I would say this is a 3-4 star resort. All rooms are good, adult section is quieter. Food is varied and acceptable. Drinks are plentiful.

The resort's food, activities, and architecture are all generic and not reflective of the Cape Verdian culture I witnessed on the other islands. It's a little mass market, but then that's all-inclusive for you. None of these were bad, just not Cape Verdian, in my opinion - it felt wholly separate to the rest of Cape Verde in this respect. Despite having a booking confirmation, I had to wait over 4 hours to be checked in due to the booking not appearing in their system. For much of this time, I was confined to reception, missing the main part of my first of two days at the resort. I had to complain multiple times before being allowed to leave for food and to use the toilet. Since the resort is far from anywhere else, I was at the resort's mercy, who didn't let me use their internet or facilities. During this time, the manager refused to speak to me. Eventually, I made a new booking directly effectively mean I could be double charged for cancellation of the original booking that they wouldn't promise to stop, despite this being a fault in their systems, not my booking. Reception wasted my day, cost me more money, and insinuated that I was the problem. This really ruined my stay, even though the rest of the staff were fantastic cleaning and catering for the guests. The hotel lives off TUI tour groups. If you book directly or are a solo traveller, expect to be ignored, or in my case, mistreated.

I rarely write reviews and it’s sad that this one has to be so negative as I was really looking forward to this holiday. I booked 7 nights stay, but ended up checking out after 3 days to return home as I didn’t feel well. I do feel this was due to the flies in the hotel and I also saw 2 cockroaches in my bathroom sink. My room smelt of sewage after the first day. Whilst the cleaners were very nice and would knock to see if I would like the room to be cleaned, the hotel standard is not what anyone would expect for 5star. The rooms are dated and it’s seems the sewage system is too. I informed reception the day before that I would be checking out early. I didn’t say why. I was told that I would get a full refund which would probably be cash when I checked out. I checked out the following day before 12 and was told he couldn’t refund back to my card he tried to explain why but I didn’t understand. As I had over an hour before the taxis came he told me to come back and he would see if he could do the refund before I go. When I did go back he said that the manager said it was too much money and I should provide my bank details. He printed off my receipt and wrote that I had checked out early. On the way to the airport I emailed my account details which included the IBAN etc. After being home 4 days I heard nothing and had not received my refund so I emailed again. They responded and said they would chase their admin. After almost a week they emailed and asked for a certificate of account, (statement) which should be signed by me and stamped by my bank. My bank printed off my account statement/summary and stamped it I signed it scanned it and emailed it to the hotel. They sent me another email asking for a declaration of account that should be stamped and signed by the bank and myself. I responded that my bank statement is a declaration and should be sufficient as it had been stamped by the bank and signed by myself as that’s what had been originally requested.
