This hotel is convenient for us to stay in Ft. McMurray as it is a short distance to our son's home. We like the price for the room and, though it is an older property, it is very well maintained. We like the continental breakfast which is included and the coffee is quite good. We have stayed here at various times through the year and have always felt it was good value for the price charged.

The heating unit would not cycle-off when the room reached the set temperature. This was due to the unit being set in a window with the cold air from outside entering the unit constantly so it never reacted to the set temperature inside the room. It was especially cold during our stay and the heating unit never shut-off. It was constantly on and and only cycled-off for short (less than 10 second) periods of time. Hotel management did replace the original unit with a new one, but, it did not change the way it operated compared to the original unit. So, if you are staying here in the winter, this is just a caution that there is constant noise from the heating unit working. You can set the temperature lower so that the room isn't too hot, but, the unit doesn't stop running.

The air conditioner didn’t seem to work very well. Had to keep turning it off and then back on. Gave up and opened the window.

Clean, quiet, recently-updated rooms with comfortable beds and pillows and a bathroom with a fan were some of the highlights of this hotel. It’s located very near to all kinds of amenities and easy to find within the city and travel to. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and the woman who checked us in went out of her way to assist us with a booking error that we had made. Breakfast was basic but sufficient, and several dining options, as well as groceries, are within easy walking distance. Despite being on a main road and across from a school, we found that the room itself was quiet and there were no disturbances. Best of all is the extremely reasonable price. We would stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

No elevators could prove to be difficult for guests with limited mobility.

Reception staff very helpful, came to help through doors with luggage. She also offered & carried my suitcase up the stairs after I checked in. (I have had a recent double knee replacements.) Room & facility very clean

No elevator a bit of an issue but I managed. When I was coming down to check out another guest saw I was struggling on stairs & carried my suitcase down.

The location is very good, the breakfast is very good, the customer services is very good. The room is very clean, of course, actually the whole entire hotel is very clean. I was so happy because I stayed at BCMI Fort McMurray - downtown location .

noise complaint from my spouse as she’s a light-sleeper and said there was frequent activity all night, people coming/ going, loud trucks/ turbo diesel exhaust, bangs and people heard talking in large groups. I slept without a hitch, but maybe I’m just used to the background noise. Only thing to make it better is to put all the smokers up top/ on their own floor and larger TVs, 50-60”, instead of like a 32”.

The location is what I liked the most. So many places that are in walking distance like restaurants, barbershop and shopping

Location everything you need is walking distance away. Complimentary breakfast was not bad. Staff was very friendly. Great rates I feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck

Coffee for the complimentary breakfast is very weak. Pancakes are very chewy.

Complimentary hot breakfast, helpful staff, good shower, good internet with ample plug-ins, good location on main road, great a/c on a hot day.

Steps up and down to rooms had me wonder about handicapped access. For some reason, perhaps recent renovations, shoe covers were recommended/required for building access.
