The cabin is nicely decorated and it offered a very cozy, relaxed atmosphere which we needed for our vacation. The owners have also done a great job to provide experiences for all seasons and they have a restaurant on site for the guests' convenience, though we didn't use it as we had a good kitchen space inside our cabin. We loved the fire pit by the water for our evening stargazing, and the location was awesome! We took day trips to a couple of provincial parks and nearby towns.

My only recommendation would be to replace the mattresses.

The room was lovely and clean with a nice deck. The spa bath was very helpful after I swam across the lake and back. The kayaks and the lifejackets were readily available. Mike made us a fire on the last night and we met a lovely couple down there. Also it was just the quiet we needed.

I did not know the restaurant would be closed Monday-Thurs night so we were not able to access it. However, we found many options within 15 min away.

We were very delighted with out stay at Somerset lakeside resort. We stayed here for 10 days and still wished we had more time. The owner really helped us with where to go to explore the amazing scenery in the area. The room was nice and clean and the service was excellent! We’ve enjoyed multiple cozy campfires near the lake, Overall, a great place to enjoy the amazing nature in a calm environment!

Loved everything about this place, right on the lake, immersed in nature with Bancroft just a quick drive away. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and extremely clean, the beds comfortable. Mike is a great host, friendly and ready with tips for hikes and activities. The fire by the lake in the evenings was a very nice touch. On our last morning we also had breakfast in the resort's restaurant, cooked by Mike, and it was delicious. Plenty of parking space. Only regret, not being able to spend more time at the resort, chilling and enjoying the scenery.

We had a lovely time at the resort, it's small, quiet and run very well. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a King Room with Lake View and even the balcony appeared to have ben swept so it was a pleasure to sit outside without spider webs! Sitting on the peaceful dock was a pleasure and canoes/kayaks were available. They have the fire pit going in the evening.

Unfortunately they didn't have enough staff yet to open the restaurant but they could bring food to your room. Also Netflix wasn't working but they have lots of cable channels.

We loved our room!! A very nice balcony overlooking the lake, very clean room and a really nice owner. Highly recommend this place!

The bed!! It was so bouncy. Every time one of us moved, it shook the entire bed. I think they need to upgrade to memory foam mattresses.

The entire property is beautiful both inside and outside. It’s really a high-end cabin by a stunning lake. What a gem!

The room sound proof isn’t so great. We can hear people talking or walking in the hallway or outside from our room.

Amazing lake view from room. Modern room with balcony and modern bathroom. Free parking. Fridge in room. Tablet in room with suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Camp fires every evening

Too small trash can. Room was quite noisy, woke up every morning from the breakfast room being set up or other guests talking in the corridor. Bed was uncomfortable and it sounded like we were lying on plastic

The location was beautiful, the staff friendly, and because it was off-season we had the place virtually to ourselves. A lovely, relaxing spot.

WiFi was poor (non-existent in our room) except in the lounge, but that was understandable because of the rather remote location. A handrail along paths to the dining room and waterfront would have been helpful, as would a shallower step at the entrance to our unit.

Somerset Lakeside is a polished gem among uncut stones. Beautifully appointed and impeccably cleaned. Our host was friendly but not imposing. The grounds surrounding our room were well kept and our stay was beyond comfortable.

I loved everything about our stay. It was like staying in a high end hotel in a cabin setting.
