My son and I were driving from Toronto to Edmonton and our first stop after a very long days drive was to be in Wawa. What better place to stay than at the Big Bird Inn! It was a quaint, comfy hotel with a very friendly staff and a nice room. The beds were super comfy and we really liked the electric fireplace that was a nice added touch and kept us nice and warm. Located very close to all of the nice restaurants and right on the Main Street in Wawa - and of course it was close to the big Canada Goose Statue!! It was a lovely stay and I highly recommend it!

The hotel supported our very late check-in time. Front desk was friendly and efficient. The room was small, but all we needed for an overnight stay and the price was attractive. The breakfast (which was included) offered a great variety of hot and cold options and was replenished as needed. I would absolutely stay here again.

The location was our first stop of a 4 day trip, to Calgary, and it was amazing, the young gentleman (cant remember his name but it was on Dec 27/24 aroumd 6pm) who helped us get checked in, was amazing, and was super friendly and even our 2 chiwawas loved him!. I wish I knew his name, (forgot) so the next time we stay, we can get checked in by him again!

Wonderful kind and helpful front desk receptionist on check in. Accommodated our pet, clean, large rooms. We got in a bit later and were able to get dinner at the Viking close by. Go to this restaurant, the women who work and run it and cook there are amazing, funny and so nice. Was a restful stop. Also great onsite parking for our large Uhaul which was nice.

Great place to stay, friendly and helpful staff, and clean rooms. There is lots of parking and as a bonus, outdoor plugs are available for those days you need to use your block heater.

Nothing to do with the hotel, if you are arriving later in the evening, make sure you have some food with you as the town closes early and there is only a convenience store for snacks. All other grocery stores are closed.

Our room was big and comfortable. Compared to similar properties this was good value for money. The room looked beter in person than the photos. We traveled with 2 dogs and property is well located to take them for walks in the neighboring suburb.

Would prefer white towels but a personal preference

We left very earlier in the morning, so was not able to partake in the breakfast. Lids for the coffee cups would have proven to be useful. Perhaps if some fresh fruit was provided.....?

Bath mats to prevent slippage would be advisable. My Uncle very nearly had an accident stepping into the shower.

The Big Bird Inn has been remodeled and it really nice! Clean and comfortable rooms. The TV was outfitted with a Roku device and several streaming platforms were available to use (Disney+, Netflix etc) Which my teenager enjoyed. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The Friendly staff was accommodating when my teen was ill (not related to the room itself), and seemed genuinely concerned. A very kind bunch!

There are a few little things missing. No in-room coffee maker, cups or glasses, or additional hooks to hang towels or clothing in the bathroom. Electrical outlets seem to be in odd spots near the desk. All of these things are very minor for us however.

Clean and newly refurbished

Breakfast started a bit late a 7:00. We were on a timeline and needed to head out early. Met a few other travellers who said the same. Nice to have the hot breakfast though.

Location was good and hotel met our needs. Liked the full size fridge if we were staying more than a few nights

We arrived a bit later than expected to Wawa. Dinner options a bit limited and grocery store closed. Not hotels fault
