We loved the view from our balcony, even when the clouds came over and it was pouring with rain! Blankets and comfy balcony chairs were a plus. Nice spacious room, really comfy bed, great shower/bath and spacious bathroom. The room was very quiet, even with people staying either side of us. We were pleased to have a fridge in the room to store fresh milk and other perishable food. Lovely breakfast. We only ate dinner once in the restaurant but the 5-course meal was excellent. We speak reasonable French, which was appreciated by the Québecois staff, but many of them spoke a bit of English too. They were all very friendly and welcoming. We wished we could have stayed a few days more. It was such a beautiful setting.

For English tea drinkers like us there was no kettle in the room, only a coffee maker, which we used simply to heat hot water to make ourselves cups of tea. We didn't use the coffee pods or creamer sachets at all. There are no lifts, just stairs to get to the upper floor accommodation. We managed to carry all our luggage up the stairs ourselves but it would be a struggle for those with mobility problems. The weather was very wet when we were there (late August) and we were glad we had a car as the hotel is at the top of a steep hill so we wouldn't have wanted to walk into town and back.

We stayed several places on our last trip, and this was our favorite. A beautiful view from our comfortable room, a lovely little spa which was perfect after a long drive, and delicious meals with an incredibly friendly waitstaff.

I can almost always come up with something I didn't like, but struggling this time! :)

Spa was amazing. Lovely views from our top floor room balcony. Enjoyed sitting out with a drink looking at the river. Comfortable bed and crisp sheets.

Slightly antiquated in some areas. Stairs were old and chipped paint and dirty carpets that could have been hoovered to give a better first impression

The room was gorgeous and “deluxe” as described, which isn’t always the case. The view, as described, was incomparable from the entire room and the covered patio, which was lovely, romantic and cozy. The restaurant was gorgeous, comfortable and romantic, the service great and the food fabulous! The woodsy spa area was great with the stone hot tubs. The massage was incredible. I slept for two hours afterwards and felt relaxed the whole rest of the day. Most of the staff were welcoming and helpful. Provided the peaceful respite we needed after two weeks of traveling and touring. The area is gorgeous.

Most of the staff were friendly, and though most didn’t speak English, they were kind and patient with us (one of us doesn’t speak french at all). Those who did speak English were welcoming and wonderful. Unfortunately, one or two, as unfortunately happens in Quebec outside of Montreal and Quebec City were downright hostile, even after we explained we were Americans, not the political foes, Anglophone Québécois, and we didn’t have the ugly American demand and expectation that everyone on the planet speak English. One of us speaks passable french, though comprehension is more difficult and people seem to resent the request to speak more slowly, but the little french we knew helped a lot. It does make one hesitant to return.

Beautiful room with a large sitting area (Queen Suite). Wonderful view of the St. Lawrence river and the town below. Staff very polite and responsive. Gourmet dinner in the restaurant was a real treat. Wish we had time to stay more than just one night.

Awesome place to stay for some nice resting days, great view of the river, great spa amenities. Best massages ever, we took two as they were incredible Nice breakfast not included The first girl when we checked in was super friendly, helped us out make a reservation in a local resto as the hotel had no free space for that night it has some winter rooms uphill to have a hot tea with lounge chairs and heater, amazing!!

Small room, could probably hear everything around but was not a big issue as the place is very quiet

The staff were welcoming, the room very comfortable and facing north had a glorious view over La Malbaie. The food at the restaurant, particularly dinner was outstanding, good wine list and welcoming service. I would happily return

Location is good. View is good. The nature SPA is great, just like Japanese On-Sen

The restaurant (for dinner): We waited almost 1 hour, may be more to get our dishes served. The volume is too less comparing to the price.

We were not expecting how serene the spa area and the entire inn was. Having dinner on site, was a bonus. It is definitely a place we will come back to.

Exceeded our expectations. Every box was ticked!

Very quaint but well kept up and furnished. Spa facilities were excellent

The very narrow stairs to our third floor room - although they did lead to a beautiful room with a great view and deck
