THE BEST HOTEL IN ALL BEIJING - trust me. Don’t be afraid that it says only for Mainland Chinese no problem they accept it. It is just for something of the government but no problem we are from Brasil we stayed and it was fine! First of all one advice DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS, or maps to get here it will throw you in a construction site far away from where it is. Just follow the steps from the messages . It is in SHINSHA HUTONG street just ask that name when you get to the HUTONG area of Quianmen and it will be easy! They accept WESTERN credit card which is very good most places do not accept anything of that visa or Mastercard. But here yes… very good m. Amazing hotel, we loved here!

This property is a true hidden gem of Beijing. The location was fantastic for several reasons: it is located in the historic Hutongs of Old Beijing, it is very close to the splendid restaurants and shops of the Dashilan district, Qianmen and Meishi streets and about a 10 minute walk from major attractions such as Tienanmen Square, the Forbidden City and the National Museum. The front desk staff are extremely helpful, and speak English at a post-graduate level—so far, I have not found the same command of English among staff at either international chains or even luxury hotels in China! There is the historical character of the building itself, with its many quirks, secrets and surprises, and a comfortable area for smokers. For the price, the value was incredible.

A character property such as this one requires the guest to make some compromises. The rooms are not as updated as you will find in an international chain or luxury hotel. The rooms are drafty and there is little sound buffering. The cleaning staff do seem to try their best, but an old building is simply not going to look as clean as a modern one. Still, there are opportunities to improve the appearance with some fresh paint, baking soda and vinegar, etc. All that said, you get history, character and authenticity as a trade off.

Amazing location. Between two metro stations (line 8 and line 2). Easy to access Tiananmen Square or Temple of Heaven by foot. Nearby crowdy street with cheap and good food. Personal speaks very good English so it is easy to get some information.

It is an old facility so you have to expect a specific smell in the room it is not that strong but you need to keep the window open to get rid of it. On the other hand towels were changed every day, so apart from the building and room conditions everything was acceptable, maybe consider taking something else if you have allergies etc.

The hotel is located about 50 meters away from the main pedestrian area. This area comes to life in the evening and is one of the main attractions to spend your hours at night (or day). The subway station was also nearby and easily reachable. It is in walkable distance of attractions like the Forbidden City. The staff was friendly but not that helpful when you asked anything else apart from the typical check-in and check-out. There is a lovely patio inside the domain where you could sit and talk to your friends or other guests until late at night. Price-quality wise definitely OK. Also, a lot of restaurants and shops closeby. We enjoyed our stay here.

The rooms weren't soundproof. The rooms need an upgrade.

Very good location, picturesque, really a nice place to stay and feel immersed in a Chinese inn. Staff was superb, kind and helpful.

Only one day we run out of hot water (it was late but a good shower in winter is pure gold) and internet connection was poor...

Beautiful hutong to stay in. Walls are almost non-soundproof — my room had a mutual wall with the inner courtyard, which was partially glass (with curtains), but it's still quiet and I had no trouble sleeping. Water, kettle, tea, towels, toothbrush & all were handy. Didn't use the TV or radiator. The reception is 24h, which is extremely convenient. The location is top tier, took me 20-30 minutes by foot to get to the temple of Heaven and it's 5 minutes walk from Zhushikou metro station (overall 50 minutes from Daxing airport). I hope to stay in this hotel in my future Beijing travels.

Excellent location, felt very safe and secure, staff very good and helpful and it really felt like an authentic traditional Beijing courtyard hotel. Bed was very comfortable and air conditioner managed to keep two Scottish people cool in mid 30’s degree temperatures so full marks there. Enjoyed our stay here very much.

Not that I didn’t like it (kind of helped with authenticity to be honest), but some of the furniture and decoration is a little tired. Again, while it didn’t bother us if you expect a hotel room to be spotlessly clean you may be disappointed - it was clean enough and the daily cleaning was good but things like dust under furniture / in corners was noticeable. Didn’t bother us but I know plenty of people who would have been unhappy with it.

the hotel has a great location in the heart of Beijing, yet very quiet in a cute little alley. It was easy to go around many attractions by bicycle. The hotel itself is an old doutryard style place, which is a wonderful experience! Would definitely stay there again.

I would have benefittet from a little instruction which metro station end which exit to take and how to walk to the place. Because if you know it´s really close to Zushikou station, but if youo take the wrong exit or the wrong turn it´s very inconvenient.

I enjoyed very much staying at this hotel. The location is really perfect! Located in a side street of the busy Qianmen Street, it is quiet and the main sights (like Tianmen Square, etc) are within walking distance. To reach more faraway sights, the metro station is a 2 minutes walk away. The room provided everything I needed (including water bottles every day), it was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The lady at the reception organized a taxi for me. All in all a great stay for a very good price! Can highly recommend.

Location is amazing. It is an old building with this traditional charm you expect going to China. Complimentary water, shampoo, shower gel. Beautiful decoration, we even took pictures in the corridors. Staff was superb. Extremely helpful all the time, even after we checked out they hold our bags and gave us information and let us use the toilet.

It is true that the toilet floods too easily when showering, but it is a traditional courtyard. If you expect plain modern facilities, go to an Ibis. If you want something with more personality we really recommend this place.
