Excellent Hotel. The room was great, breakfast was great with phenomenal choices. Great location. While checking out, the Manager personally met with us and gave us a little departure gift. First visit to Qingdao, if/when back, will stay there again.

Lack of English speaking employees, especially at the Front Desk. I understand that is generally a problem in China but I see that as a problem in communication with foreign (USA in this case - and I do speak french and spanish beside english) visitors, I think hotels of this level should have more polyglots.

We spent 5 nights at the Shangri-La Qingdao in the Valley Wing and were absolutely delighted! The service was exceptional – the staff were always incredibly attentive and took care of all our needs right away. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The breakfast offered a wide variety and was excellent in both quality and taste. The swimming pool and other hotel facilities exceeded our expectations. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff: always friendly, helpful, and professional. We felt thoroughly welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and are already looking forward to our next visit!

I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel near 5-4 Square in Qingdao, and I was truly impressed by the exceptional service. It wasn’t just one or two staff members who stood out, but rather every team member was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. They quickly and efficiently handled all our requests, creating a very warm and comfortable experience. I’ve stayed at many 5-star hotels, but this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a letter of appreciation. My sincere thanks to the hotel management and staff for their outstanding service.

The very best thing was the staff. They were always happy, always extra helpful. Just great! The desk staff all spoke English quite well. All staff throughout the hotel spoke a few English words or knew how to use a translator on their phone effectively. Desk staff arranged a taxi for me at a precise time and made sure the driver knew where to take me. Next best was location. Easy walk to a fun tourist-friendly area on the waterfront. Overall quality of the room and hotel is excellent, as should be expected of a hotel of this quality.

EVERYTHING was great.

Everything about our stay was amazing, we felt at home, staff were super friendly and helpful, always there for you. The buffet breakfast and dinner were exceptional, so many varieties and chefs cooked fresh and served as per requests. I would like to highlight the great service provided by Valley wing manager Kenta Goto, his professionalism, commitment to serve, respectful mannerism, especially his humanity in treating all guests as individuals are truly commendable. Thank you, Goto and all staff in Shangri- La, we will see you soon!

the staff was amazing, we had a problem in our room and they did not hesitate to give us a new one, all solved very quickly. The breakfast and the happy hour were very good with a lot of western food options. The room is very spacious and confortable and the bathroom is enormous! The location is very good too, near a metro station, right next to a big shopping mall and walk distance to the 4th of may square, which is a very pleasant aerea to walk around.

we liked everything.

The location is great, 4 minutes walk to MixC shopping center. Very good breakfast, plenty of food to choose from. Clean and quiet room with a nice view. The lap pool is also good and it wasn't crowded when we went there.

The swimming pool area has 2 other small pools that have cold water, it is just a waste of good relaxing space. The saunas are separate - one in the men's changing room and one in the women's - and the sauna experience was the worst one ever! I found out that the local clients do not use the sauna as a sauna, but to dry their clothes (incl. panties and socks) :(((( The sauna was full of towels and clothes thrown everywhere. The other hotel clients would just come in to pick up their clothes, even with their outside shoes on :( It was extremely disappointing...they have so many rules for their pool area, but they don't care about what happens in the other communal relaxing areas.

Very good location - right next to the metro exit and beside a big shopping mall where we had many meals. May (the?) 4th Square is also a good starting point of walking toward the old town and seaside tourist attractions. The service was impeccable. We stayed there twice and each time got a room with a good view. The complementary tea bags were of good quality and delicious too.

The curtains did not black out the room entirely so we woke up to lights early in the morning (not too bad). The 2 small swimming pools did not have proper massage waves.

Extraordinary experience during our stay at Shangri-La in Qingdao!. A hotel with such high standards in every aspect is rare to find nowadays, especially after Corona crisis, when many hotels seem having reduced their service and attention levels dramatically! Here it was like being back in the "good old times" of five star hotels with super friendly staff and very good and helpful service! Fantastic breakfast buffet for any kind of taste - european, chinese, korean, japanese. Very clean rooms and good restaurants. Shopping Mall and subway station just across the street.
