The room was modern, spacious and brightly lit. We especially liked the amazing view from both our room and the hotel club, overlooking Gulangyu island. Our hotel club waitress Susan provided exceptional 5-star service which left nothing at all to be desired. She attended to our every need and even expertly mixed cocktails for us. The hotel club chef created a new and broad selection of dishes, both Western and Chinese, every single day. This selection included warm dishes, cold dishes and even cakes (5 different kinds per day). If not for the amazing sights Xiamen has to offer, we would have stayed in the hotel club all day.

Very clean and service is good. Breakfast choices were excellent. However was disappointed with the pool.. most of the time there were local classés held there.. and we were told we need to wear swimming cap in order to use the pool. So was à little sad didn't get to enjoy it. The gym also not very condusive for foreigners. Anyhow the staff were very helpful and polite and try to understand english speaking guests. Specially thanks to breakfast room staff Derek and his friend on duty during our visit. And not forgetting Sarah from the lounge room, always greeting us with à smile.

Perhaps can inform in hôtel booking app about swimming cap rule. And allocate timing for guests to use the pool instead.

Location was good and a room was spacious. Staffs were friendly. I lost my bag in taxi but Angela helped me a lot to take it back.

Improving English skills of staff members.

Our large family had an ocean/Gulangyu-view room (1627) and a family suite (936) for over one week. Both rooms were extremely clean, well equipt and comfortable. The ocean/Gulangyu view from 1627 was wonderful. Every day it was lovely to see the island and boats. This floor was quiet and spacious. The room had everything needed, plus even a microwave and small full fridge. The family suite was excellent. The original furnishing was luxurious and elegant, and the children-focused decor delighted our young kids. It had 1.5 washrooms, a bunk bed, large bed and enough space separation to feel big to feel like an executive apartment. We also are so appreciative of the kind staff, especially the housekeeping staff Jerry (16th floor) and 张得淑 (9th floor) who made sure we had a lovely birthday celebration and our rooms were well stocked and clean. The kids also loved their personal touches, especially the towel animals. Our stay was so comfortable, we even extended our stay by 5 days and look forward to being back. (Also the breakfast and lunch buffet is truly great, especially for kids.)

Having to pay for the in-house kids areas (charging even infants), the in-room tea (at a tea-producing region?), Evian water (why!?). All of which is unusual for China, and especially at an high-end hotel anywhere in the world. Would make the experience feel more luxe if these minor services were included.

We had the suite and layout and the amentities were excellent! We were also VERY impressed with all the staff, especially the wonderful concierge team that were all super helpful throughout our stay. Their housekeeping deserves a praise as well, cleanliness was great and handwritten notes to us on some days with cute towels folded on our beds a pleasant surprise. Keep up the great work as we will definitely stay here again!

Design of the lobby can be more modern, design of the lobby bar was great but it was blocked by an ice cream counter which cheapened the feel of the lobby for me.

Excellent location and view, great food and we used both the 24hrs room service and the breakfast room services, and the food were great. the restaurant also is great with great view and service for a very reasonable price, the top floor offers afternoon tea with a birds-eye-view of the Gulangyu island.

Except for buffet breakfast, most restaurants open after 11am. It would be nice to have restaurant opened early so that we can relax and enjoy our brunch without using room service.

Location is close to bus stops and metro. Short walk to ZhongShan Rd. Room is a bit old but clean and comfortable. Executive lounge - great view and service. Excellent service from concierge, housekeeping, room service, dining team. My call requests were answered promptly from room service and maintenance team. They are always very courteous. Stanley the assistant manager solved my room issue. Much appreciated!

It was very busy during my stay as it's the summer holiday in China. Lobby can be noisy and crowded. Fitness centre - gym is a bit tired and needs better equipment but it does have a great view of the Gulangyu Island from the gym.

Non-smoking rooms and environment is superb. Comfortable environment.

We have added breakfirst but was charged for the kid below 1.2 m despite we were being told during the booking that breakfast was free for kid’s height below 1.2 m. During check-out I have asked for the bill print out and had pointed out that it was being charged for the kid’s breakfast. As we need to depart for airport to catch our flight , I did not verify the correction despite the front desk lady has verbally informed that it has been corrected. I have not check the credit card bill on the correction yet. I hope hotel can make improvement in this area.

Nice 25m swimming pool Well located close to Zhong Shan Road and all the shops and eateries

WiFi was not very good and we ended using our eSims Gym was way too hot with the temperature set to 23 degrees

Fantastic hotel if you want to explore Xiamen and the region. Perfectly located at the heart of the city, the Swiss Grand offers spacious rooms, a stunning view on the harbour and best of all, amazing staff who will help you get along with all that you need to accomplish when travelling China as a foreigner.
