Very clean and nice hotel. Super friendly staff. Breakfast is not included but available, if ordered a day before, in a very good restaurant open from 5 a.m., perfect if you have an early excursion to the park or need to leave. In less than 3 minutes walking there are many restaurants, some shops and a fruit market, and in 7 minutes walking you can reach the see and other activities. Rooms are quite big with air conditioning and a fridge. Filtered water is available. The view is directly on the forest: you can see plenty of toucans and other birds around, one morning we could hear howler monkeys as well. In the hotel you can also book activities and excursions to Corcovado park.

Compared to other places we stayed in Costa Rica, this hotel offered insanely good value for money. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and very comfortable, with excellent air conditioning. We even spotted toucans twice from our shower window—can’t beat that kind of wildlife viewing! The staff was kind, and the pool was a welcome alternative to the beach after a long day. The patio area with two hammocks quickly became our go-to chill zone. Everything you need is within a 5-minute walk, and there’s a large, accessible parking lot if you’re driving. We also used the laundry service at $6/kg, which was very affordable compared to more touristy areas. The power went out twice for half-days, but that’s common in the area—and honestly, a surprise digital detox did us good. Breakfast felt a bit overpriced for what you get, but with limited nearby options, we stuck with it—and the woman serving it was always lovely. If we return to Drake Bay (and we really hope we do!), we’d happily stay here again.

Our room was so spacious, stylish, and ‘well equipped’. The 2 double beds ( 1 queen size I think)were very comfortable, as were the chairs on the balcony. Our room had a lovely modern bathroom and large glass doors that opened up on to a large balcony with both a sea view and a perfect viewing location for birds ( tucans, parrots, macaws to name a few). The balcony was a delightful spot to relax on, and enabled us to watch more birds than on the trails! The nice pool gave relief from the heat and was set in a really pretty garden. The large covered area also gave a shaded spot to hang out and chill in hammocks, egg chair etc. The nicest accommodation we’ve had on our travels in Costa Rica and would definitely come back to and recommend Margarita. We had The Superior Premium Deluxe room.

It’s a shame the restaurant/ bar is not open/ used more often as it’s a nice space and looks on to the garden and pool area. It seems mainly used to give lunch to pre booked tour groups. For a meal you have to book at least 24 hrs ahead, which we did, but on the night there were no other bookings and so it lacked atmosphere. Shame as the food was nice.

This place was way nicer than we expected! Quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing place in Drake Bay. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, too. And it included a mini fridge, with cups chilling in the freezer! The hotel helped us book a tour, last minute, in Corcovado National Park, that we really enjoyed. And they served us a poolside beverage, even though the restaurant wasn't technically open yet. There are a handful of restaurants close by and even a grocery store/market, too. There was a free coffee/tea station at the hotel, which was perfect for our early mornings! That was such a thoughtful touch, given the boat times and the tour times. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Loved the staff, who were incredibly helpful and kind. Loved the pool and the visiting birds, including Toucans and Woodpeckers. Easy to get to other places in town for activities and supermarkets/restaurants. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent too. Rooms are generously spacious as are the bathrooms.

Its up a hill - but that is standard in Costa Rica. They could do with a generator for power cuts, but it was all back on in a couple of hours.

Pool, room & balcony, restaurant/bar, amazing staff, conveniently located, the wildlife (we saw many different types of birds, iguanas, and other lizards). Just a heads up there are many birds and dogs close by. The birds get their day started pretty early with lots of noise, about 5am, on top of that there is a neighborhood dog that barks a lot at night. Drake Bay is a super small town surrounded by wildlife, so you better be aware and be ready for the noise no matter where you stay.

Not really anything. Would absolutely stay again if we every find our way back to Drake Bay Costa Rica.

Refurbishment in the facilities is needed - for 100€ per Night I would expect to see sth great - not value for’money. Also initially I went to ask for a room in person and the manager told me a price higher of the one I checked on booking (like 30-40€ more) In the end I booked through booking. It would be useful if hotels dont take their clients for stupid I was charged for rice and potato 8 usd…….literally I had this as I had food poisoning

Friendly and helpful staff and really good food! The room was comfortable though it could be refreshed a bit. I think we had a family room (there were two double beds). The bathroom was nice with a good shower. We had a very big balcony with a nice view and we saw lots of birds. It was at the top of the hill but only a 5 minute walk from the bay and it was close to plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was very good but it would have been nice if it were included.

Nothing much really, there were no luggage racks in the bedroom that could be useful. On our last night the AirCo broke down and we had to sleep without it and there isn’t any fan, that was a bit tough. A gesture might have been nice. Towels and sheets could be newer.

Good location - easy to get to places in town, excellent air conditioning and a humidifier in the room made things very comfortable with the heat outside. Cheap laundry with a fast turnaround.

Prices seem to fluctuate wildly - I wanted to book another night later in my trip and the cost was over double so I stayed elsewhere - this is potentially due to only larger rooms being available, originally cost was very reasonable but couldn’t justify the extra cost.

The hotel staff were very professional and hardworking, always responding well to questions and requests. Although it is not a long walk from the beach it is up hill, they collected us from and dropped us off to the boat when we had our luggage on arrival and departure day. The onsite restaurant is very good; it serves.a reasonably priced menu with a good variety of options. The waiting staff were also very friendly and welcoming. The room itself was clean. Excellent air conditioning and a dehumidifier. Though the bathroom was quite compact it had a great shower. Good, clean and fresh smelling bed linen and towels. They provide a laundry service, which returned clothes with the same fresh smell. Filtered and purified water available. The swimming pools was very nice and there were lots of places to relax in the hotel.

We did have one cockroach, though it is kind of expected that they might get in on occasion given the location in the jungle. It did seem like it had been affected by some kind of control agent, which was reassuring. The only major issue we had was with the WiFi, which could be a bit slow. For the price a small breakfast would have been welcomed. Overall a lovely place to stay.
