I don't know why I went to Ceske but I did. It's a charming little city with a fair bit of history and culture, but it's probably a place best visited as a group if you don't have a grasp of the lingo. That said, I enjoyed a wonderful dinner followed by a few pints of Staropramen Dark watching the traffic go by on the picturesque Premysl Ottokar II Square. I, then, retreated to Cuba for a night cap before retiring for the night to my welcome bed in Room 5, which was a great layout. It has four bunk beds in the main and then two l-shaped bunks in an alcove which afforded a degree of privacy normally bot afforded in a hostel dorm setting. In terms of authenticity, the state of many of the buildings, as well as the pastel colours, reminded me a bit of Havana!

The location is excellent, sights are in arms reach. Restaurants for local cuisine and vegan/gluten free options can be found nearby. The rooms, bathroom and kitchen area were very clean, and the staff very friendly. And free parking nearby. Super good value for money.

The hostel didn't have an elevator and the rooms are spread out along three floors. If you are residing on the top, drink responsibly. One other note is that the hostel has a superb bar downstairs, which also means the occasional noisy people leaving the premises at night.

I want to share a great experience. my trip from Dublin to Cesky Budejovice took longer than I planned so I arrived after midnight. My navigation walked me in circles, several times. So, I didn't manage to go to Cuba bar and Hostel alone. Luckily for me, a lovely young woman, the manager was concerned. And she found me and took me to my destination! Thank you Lucia! I salute you very much! Well, after about twenty hours of travel, finally... a clean and tidy bathroom, soft towels... A nice, single room, tidy, with fragrant soft bed linen. In the morning, coffee in the impeccably maintained kitchen, which has everything a traveler needs and more. Absolutely guaranteed privacy is what I need and all my needs were perfectly met. I can't point out any particular objection

I changed my booking to a solo room when I was checking in. The receptionist at that time (tall, tattoed lady) was incredibly helpful and made it work. She was very nice and approachable through all my encounters with her. The Room is incredibly spacious and enough to house 4 people. Its clean and well kept. Location wise, walking distance to thr square (7mins) and the main bus station (15mins). For those concerned, you dont need to go thru the bar to get to your room, although its above the bar it has a separate entrance.

Its impossible to check in early because the bar, which is also the reception opens at 4pm so theres literally no one before 4pm.

Great location. All necessary amenities are available (hair dryer, kitchen utensils, towels, washing machine). Special thanks to the staff for cleanliness and responsiveness. Also on the ground floor there is a wonderful bar with an insane amount of rum and extremely welcoming bartender girls. Living in this wonderful place I never got bored, but the peace was never disturbed. Thank you, we will come back to you again and again.

During the 13 days of stay there were no complaints.

Staff was friendly, access was convenient, and location was good.

The establishment needs to be cleaned better. In particular, the bathroom doesn't look like it gets much attention. The shower, whose drain was filled with body hair and thus didn't drain properly, was filthy, not to mention that the fixture was literally coming off the wall and held in place by a hair elastic! The Wi-Fi network posted on the wall was non-existent, and other networks were weak. Some bedding was missing, upper bunks have no personal light, and there are insufficient power outlets by the bunks. Kitchen signage needs to be posted in English, as Czech is not the primary language of international travellers 🤦🏻‍♂️

Okay, let's be fair: this is a hostel above a bar. This might not be your cup of tea and that's totally alright. However, we loved it. Stayed two nights, both nights were quiet enough, probably helped by the copious amounts of beverages amongst other places consumed in the very bar. Staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English very well! If guests became to unruly, immediate action was taken. Everything was clean (exceptionally so for a hostel!), the room was spacious, the bathroom huge, the location amazing (center walkable in about 5mins, Budweiser brewery walkable in about 20mins) and the price was an absolutely amazing deal. Neighborhood feels safe and cozy.

Check in is only when the bar is open, so from 16hrs onwards. You might want to plan around that.

Everything inside was perfect. The hostel is well positioned, easy to discover the historical centre; the kitchen is functional; the shower was nice and strong; the bed was very comfortable.

The staff only there after 4pm so it’s quite difficult if you have an early check in or just to drop your stuff. Also the check out is rather early, that can be resolved it would have been a gem of the city.

The apartment was very comfortable. The room and private bathroom were spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The Hostel is located close to the city center. The parking area is 5 minutes away and free. The kitchen is clean and stocked with all the utensils which is very convenient for the travellers. Downstairs the Hostel you will find a bar (which is also the reception) and opposite you have a small market.

It's quite near the centre of České Budějovice and have helpfull stuff, every problem we had was easily and kindfully solved

It's not exatctly problem of the hostel, but the shared shower was quite messy, but it was the other's guests fault
