Canoe and surf boards inside hotel decor. Duke Kahanamoku decor/history in the mail lobby. Shops and 2 restaurants inside with Waikkiki view from each. We got Waikkiki beach ocean view from the hotel balcony, 6th and 12th floor, East side, amazing we coud see sea turtles in the water from balcony. Love this place. Mae was our host in the hotel - Mahalo Mae. We flew from Poland 31 hours, 3 planes one way - it was worth for me , my fwife and our 3 dauguthers. It was holidays of our live. Mahalo and Aloha.

The location , the beachfront rooms, the vibe at dukes

One major flaw… there are not enough sun beds with shelter so people line up at 7.30am to get inside the pool area at 8am then reserve all the beds with towels and often disappear for the next 2 hours . Although there are signs warning that towels will be removed if beds are unoccupied for 1 hour, this is not enforced so you can’t enjoy the pool area if you aren’t awake at 7.30!

The location and ease of access to the beach was invaluable, as was our partial view of the beach from our balcony. Bell desk staff were very friendly and also cheerful and helpful. “Lili” our housekeeper was delightful and very helpful.

we experienced some difficulty in terms of resort fees, taxes and service charges. These had been included in the fee paid directly to Bookings.com and the hotel was also adding them to our daily account. This was eventually resolved, but required 4 separate visits and discussions with members of reception - An additional stress that impacted on our stay and holiday enjoyment.

Very friendly and helpful staff in all departments, spacious and clean rooms, location is perfect for beach and shopping. Restaurants could get busy at times but excellent service and food at both, recommend get to dinner early and reserve a table. No issues usually with early breakfast or lunch.

Rooms are a bit dated ( 8th floor King partial ocean view) lighting in the bathroom is very poor, water pressure and temp unpredictable in shower, elevator can be very slow. Busy location can be loud at night with street performers and just people in general (we used white noise on phone all night to block most of it out when traveling so would recommend that!)

the location is great, right in the middle of Kalakaua bIvd, in front of the International market shopping mall. we had a ocean front room, very spacious and very FRONT to the beach!! we enjoyed the view of ocean. the room was clean and towels were changed every day. overall we had a great time staying at Outrigger!!

there is a restaurant below where we stayed, every evening, it played live music, sometimes you might feel it was loud to you, sometimes you might enjoy the music with the view of ocean when sitting on a recliner on the balcony. it depends how you like.

The location is phenomenal - it is right on the beach. The rooms are spacious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities in the room - coffee maker, TV, safe, iron, hairdryer, toiletries, copious amounts of towels, walk-in wardrobe - were excellent. The shower was powerful, with plenty of hot water, and the beds (two doubles) were so comfortable. The security was also great and I didn't have to wait too often for a lift (elevator). The partial ocean view was really good - we could even spot some sea turtles in the ocean from the (albeit very tiny) balcony. The Hula Grill had good quality food and the Hula Pie was really delicious :D

The pool is tiny, with very few shaded loungers; I was initially disappointed as the beach loungers are $100 a day *but* the sun deck was fine with lots of beds and the ocean was much, much better than the pool! My pet peeve was the room having a shower curtain rather than a shower screen but that is a personal preference. The rooms do look very dated which means that they look very underwhelming at first sight; this does not do them service.

The location of the Outrigger is hard to beat. It’s right on Waikiki beach and an easy walk to many shops and restaurants. It has a family friendly atmosphere and having the restaurant Duke’s in the lower lobby is wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet here and lunch. Also, every room has a balcony which was great.

Due to the limited amount of chairs at the pool, you have to be in line well before the pool opens at 8am to have a chance of snagging some pool side chairs. All of the chairs were gone within 2 minutes of them opening the pool. The first day we tried to get pool chairs, we weren’t able to, so we ended up renting chairs and an umbrella on the beach (ran by another vendor, not Outrigger) which was $100 for the day. This turned out to be a great beach day. The next time we tried to get pool chairs, my husband was in line at 7:40 or so and we were able to get some of the last pool chairs. People probably stared lining up around 7am. You just have to have decent planning, but it will be well worth it.

The most courteous and wonderful staff. Robert was superbly courteous and helpful at check-in and and Fiona, in housekeeping, was the kindest and most wonderful personality hands down. The room was magnificent with the most wonderful views. The curtain draws fully to where you wouldn’t know it was sunlight until you accidentally blind yourself looking outside to catch a glimpse of paradise. Will DEFINITELY return here next time in Hawai’i. Mahalo Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, you were outstanding. My 45th birthday will ashtrays be remembered.

Having to Leave the property/check out time

location is excellent for the beach, shopping, restaurants.. breakfasts at Hula Grill were real good and wonderful views... water pressure is good, hot water is good (but too hot at first), toilet flushes like an airplane toilet (great)... staff are mostly friendly and efficient...

bidet built into the toilet seat would be nice... price was VERY high (especially with the ++ added onto the price), but normal for that location in Waikiki... parking should be included in the price for Waikiki hotels, but it isn't...
