This property is quaint and beautiful. The rooms are stunning - a bit like travelling back in time but with a modern shower. There are cosy cabin beds and sitting area downstairs with a large double room upstairs. We stayed for my birthday and my daughter had pre-ordered a bottle of bubbly which was beautifully presented in our room. We had a delicious meal in the evening, traditional Danish recipes hand-cooked at the property with local ingredients. The breakfast was equally splendid. Definitely take a visit to the wonderful wine cellar accessed from the restaurant. It was such a special place & everything I hoped for.

The staff were exceptional, the building of great interest and the setting stunning. The owner is seriously trying to make improvements to surroundings.

The evening food menu is limited with no vegan options and limited vegetarian choices. Portion sizes very large, but meat dishes over cooked and hard and not to my taste.

Svostrup Kro is 250 years old, and in the middle of no where. That's why I go. It is clean and the staff is incredible, but if you want night life, the ability to "pop" over to the store, don't go. Leave your room for us. Additionally, it is well worth the extra $$$ to reserve the more expensive rooms. God rejse!

Unique experience staying staying at a place of this age. Spoiled with wonderful breakfasts and dinners. Enjoyed walks along Denmark's longest "river". Absolutely picturesque and peaceful, and right at your back door.

Bed not the most comfy. Understandably too small.

Fantastically authentic period thatched Kro, in a super riverside country location. Excellent traditional Danish dining in the evenings, great and generous included breakfast. Friendly staff and wonderful quirky period rooms filled with period Danish furniture (very comfortable beds). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would lodge here again without any hesitation. Well situated for those visiting Aarhus and Silkeborg, but a worthy destination itself!

Beautiful room, decorated in old country style. Excellent breakfast. We were sorry that we had dinner on the road, because the restaurant looked very good as well.

The entire place is beautiful and romantic. We explored all around, and the place is a beautiful adventure to go through.

Everything. It was so beautifully decorated, cozy old buildings, wonderful setting to take walks. A dream going back in time.

They forgot about us and our order at dinner 😂 and when they found us food 2 hours later it was not the greatest at all. Even though it was an accident, a manager should have been present the next day to apologize and offer the meal - we did not pay for the wine. But we laughed a lot!

The inn is fantastic, a true fairy tale. It is a beautiful setting, in a pretty location in the countryside, and so cozy!

I find the food acceptable but not delicious.
