Great location. Front entrance onto the main square. Triple glazing ensured no noise disturbance. Large clean, comfortable room. Bathroom with a tub, which is great for a soak after a day's riding. Secure underground parking reached by lift.

Not hotel related but beware of restaurants in the square out to rip off tourists, namely Aizkorri!!

This hotel is very easy to find and the hotel parking is signposted. However, you are not able to drop/collect luggage from the front door as it is on the main square. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, which was obviously very busy and all the parking near the hotel was taken. There is, however, a free public car park on the road into the town which is fine if you don't have much luggage. We opted for the hotel parking at 10 euros per night, mainly to get the car out of the heat for a couple of days. The car park has a steep ramp down to it, which is fine unless you have a sports car. The reception staff were very friendly and went out of their way to try to rectify a couple of problems we had - one with the safe that wasn't working and the other with the aircon. Unfortunately, neither was able to be rectified and the maintenance were not back on duty until the Tuesday. We were offered another room but the aircon was the same so they upgraded us to a room on the floor above. The aircon was better but I had deliberately chosen not to book those rooms as they're in the eaves and so have no view and are quite dingy. Also, if you're tall, getting in and out of bed could be dodgy, especially in the dark. I presume the rooms overlooking the square are the best ones. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the shower good. Astorga is a pretty little town and well worth a visit. The bar next door to the hotel (Urban Food?) served good tapas and we also had a good meal at Tandem at the end of the street across the square. We didn't eat at the hotel cafeteria as the menu was very complicated! Despite the couple of problems we had, we would stay here again if in the area.

The lighting in the rooms was poor and, as mentioned above, the aircon.

Location couldn't be better. We arrived by car, entering the garage from a back street. When we exited the hotel through the front door we found ourselves right at Plaza Mayor! From there it was just a few minutes' walk to the Palace Gaudí (our reason to visit Astorga) and the cathedral. Garage at the propriety. Breakfast very good for a 3-star hotel. Not at 4-star level, but very good indeed. Amenities waiting for us in the room, like chocolates, a shaving razor with cream, and more. Restaurant at the hotel open to the square.

There was a sign pointing to the direction to the garage but a second sign indicating the actual street would have been welcomed. Air conditioning would not heat over a set temperature and I needed use a blanket (from the room closet) for the night. Yet, those details did not diminish my pleasure to stay at the hotel.

The staff at this hotel have been friendly and helpful both times I’ve stayed here. Check in was easy. The rooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable! Bathrooms have bidets and a full range of toiletries is available on demand. There is underground parking available with an elevator to the lobby. Directions to the hotel are signed on the main road into Astorga so its easy to find. Location on the main plaza is fun and lively during the day and quietens down at night.

The hotel is close to a clock tower and the bells are quite loud. Light sleepers might want to ask for rooms at the back or on the courtyard.

Our hotel room was spotless, and the beds so comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful, and the hot shower is very welcome after a long walk on the Camino. All the toiletries one needs are provided. The staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast that is available at a nominal cost.

The location is a problem. The church bells right next door to the hotel disrupt a good night's sleep. We had no sleep the night we didn't there. This is not the hotel itself, but it's a situation that could chase away customers.

Spacious clean comfortable ,TV, great buffet breakfast - good price. 24 hr reception so easy to rectify any issues.

Need to go down to reception to get your room key card updated as they only ever charge it for 24 hours despite the length of stay. Had to do that twice - again at the end before check out. It is on the square so if it’s a party night - it’s loud all night despite earplugs.

"0ld Charm" property but absolutely up to date. Located in the historical city centre, Plaza Espana, with a magic view from the hotel balcony on the Plaza and the adjacent historical Aiuntamiento building. Hotel located a short walk from the two most important landmarks in Astorga (Cathedral & Gaudi-designed Episcopal Palace) &, if you fancy, another 5 min walk to Astorga's chocolate museum. Superb & very attentive hotel staff, all speaking English ( the latter so much missing in the Spanish hospitality industry) if your Spanish is non- existent or rusty. Also at the Plaza there are always some bars open during that notorious 2 - 5 pm Spanish siesta shut- down.

Large hotel right on the main square! The room was large and we had a view of the square. Breakfast provided a good range of food choices, although it was disappointing we could not get a meal there on the night we stayed. We were told of options near by. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel in an ideal location. We had amenities we haven't seen in a long time like toothbrushes and the shave kit. Small things, but a very nice touch. The bar was great, the beds were comfortable and the balcony overlooking the Plaza was a plus.

Right on the Camino trail and close to plaza. Spotless room and very peaceful.

Places do not open til late so you may have to go to supermarket if you arrive around lunch time. We found it difficult to get a pilgrim meal in the plaza and chose from another option. We chose to take snacks into the park by the church which was very peaceful.
