Gorgeous hotel and impressive suites. Good furniture (amount, quality, arrangement, comfort). The deck had good chairs and table overlooking a waterfall pool for aesthetics and white noise, no swimmers. Beautiful foliage blocked our deck from view by other units. Perfect. Lots of swimming pools and lounge chairs, and a breakwater had been constructed to make some swimming sheltered from the pounding Pacific surf. The little beach bistro near the sandy beach did delicious made to order hamburgers if you didn't feel like giving up your lounge chairs to head up to the buffet for lunch. The kids and teenagers really enjoyed the self-serve soft ice cream machine. The buffets were generous and tasty. The live Barcelo musical performance was wonderful. To have seen the mariachi players and dancers we would've been happy to have driven into the city to catch a performance this good. It was a fabulous place for our 2 days.

A positive negative: The breakfast sausages one morning were so good I could hardly wait to get there the 2nd morning to have them again but in keeping with changing the food options daily to keep the buffets appealing, there were no sausages the 2nd day. Almost enough incentive for me to stay an additional day.

No one bothers you, yet they cater to your every need, quickly and politely. The check in and check out process are very quick. The meals are delicious, the bedding is great. If you want to go to sleep early, the rooms are very quiet. The drinks are great and the waiters are very attentive. We will definitely return.

We had issues with the safety box. It was replaced but the new one still didn't work, we believe there was an issue with the batteries because sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. We decided to store our valuables in someone else's safety box. The bathroom was very noisy after flushing, when filling up it made an extremely loud whistling sound, which was okay during the daytime but extremely annoying at night or during the early hours of the morning. These issues were in room 4002.

The property was clean and the staff was amazing and very helpful. The bedroom was spacious bed was comfortable. House keeping was on top of making sure the room was clean and fridge was stocked. Would definitely recommend this place and would definitely be back for another stay. My new go to place.

Nothing everything was great

Restaurants are very good, and they care about vegetarians, very tasty and good variety. The sea views are great. We enjoyed very much the adults pools, well placed within the facilities.

The time for the check in could be improved, we waited in line for more than an hour. They need either more staff or change their system. It’s too much wait.

Overall the hotel is very nice, rooms with nice view and great service. The food at the specialty Mexican restaurant was very good.

The bathrooms at the rooms need some work, the wood doors look old, my bathroom had shampoo but not conditioner, my dad's room had conditioner and no shampoo, no lotion or any other complimentary. The slide at the pool seem to be permanently close and the food on the Mexican night was a bit off. No red meat options.

This is our second time staying at this property. We really enjoy the benefits of the premium level all inclusive package. The 24/7 room service was very convenient for late night eats! The property is well maintained and the service is exceptional

Clean, pretty and the pools were beautiful.

The should have given us an orientation at check in. For example, we didn’t realize we needed to make reservations for the nicer restaurants which caused us to loose the chance for a time slot we wanted. Also the room (Jr suite) had poor lighting, although the bed was very comfortable.

The buffet breakfast was great. Had many options in a very relaxed atmosphere. The lunch, again at the buffet restaurant, was also very good with many different options. However, unfortunately we were only there for one night - on a Monday when two of the a la carte restaurants were closed. The Japanese one was open but not our favourite food choice. So we had dinner at the buffet again however were disappointed - not much difference between lunch and dinner. It would have been nice to see items like a carvery for example. It wasn’t a bad dinner, but also not a great one. This is the only reason we have chosen to give nine stars - had it not been for our lack lustre dinner we would have found our experience perfect. Check in, staff, cleanliness, room, pools, beach, drinks, facilities are all highly recommended.

Dinner at the buffet could be better when the a la carte restaurants are closed, such as Monday nights.

I unfortunately took ill during my stay. I stayed in my room most of the time. However, the meals were superb, even though I only took advantage of buffet opportunities.

Couple of minor maintenance issues - the door to the room stuck to the floor when trying to open. And one of the "blind pullers" came off when I was trying to close the blind. Nothing major.

A nice view of the ocean apart from some trees, but they are nice to look at too! The pool system is excellent and we especially liked the adults only pool, although there were kids in there at times- not well policed.

Our main complaint, though petty, was the quality of the room coffee- very weak when you make two cups.
