The general ambiance of a long ago era. Kinda like, welcome to the 1930's. The grounds were well kept and the pool refreshing. Sauna was a pleasant surprise. Our room was very clean and had great whisper quiet cooling. Very engaging and helpful shuttle driver and I guess kind of concierge. I think his name is Allan. Helpful with luggage, and with our bicycles, which they securely stored overnight.

The included breakfast buffet is offered in a spectacular setting with a view of the Annapolis Basin while you eat. And although the food was ample and of good quality, it simply wasn't hot enough to enjoy. The omelette station was exceptional though. So, a bit of a balance. The elevator was not operational which could present an issue for someone with mobility issues, but was not an issue for us. We would have liked to have a fridge in our room, but the front desk staff did kindly offer to refrigerate any items that required refrigeration. So again, a balance.

The property is great, excellent location. The room was big and the bed was excellent. The restaurant was amazing. I had a fantastic dinner with my lovely wife, and the staff made it even more special. Thank you for such an amazing table.

I am not very picky, but I think the value of the money was correct. There are a few things that could be better. 1. Overall, the room and bathroom were dated. Some plaster cracks here and there, but it's no big deal to me. 2. The bathroom exhaust wasn't working, and my room was quite damp.

Loved the old world style and classy atmosphere!

We need accessible features. We also learned that your mechanical issues with the elevator was such a long time waiting for repairs. We would suggest a straightforward ramp to the front doors and that accessible rooms are on that floor. As you know the ratio is 12:1 or for a 6 foot rise to your front door would require 72 feet of ramp or a double rise. This could easily be constructed at the side of the iconic front door.

Breakfast was terrific. Our server was very friendly and prompt. The location is in a lovely setting and was very quiet.

I know The Pines is still renovating and plans to do a remodel on room #300 soon but, things we thought a bit off putting. While the room was clean, and the bed very comfy I thought it could have been better. The smoke detector was half missing. We are not sure that the sprinkler next to it was a substitute? Bathroom is old and run down. No sink stopper to be found! The tub should be replaced with modern shower hardware. The walking around the tub was likely installed by an amature at least that's the way it looked.

The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the main restaurant. We found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly.

The king room we stayed in was very small, including the bathroom. The room does not have a fridge or microwave. The first thing you notice when you enter the room is the comforter on the bed which was worn out with very noticeable lumps inside the comforter. Also, it was difficult to view the TV from bed because of such tight quarters.

We went for a girls weekend to celebrate my friends birthday and we were treated like queens! From the very minute we arrived, Chad (? I hope that's his name) at the front desk gave us all the information we needed to explore the property and generally eat, drink and be merry!! All we had hoped to do. But then he blew our minds by going out of his way to make sure my friend was celebrated for her special day!! Every staff person we encountered knew we were there for a birthday celebration and went above and beyond to make sure we were honored! Denise and Alex in Churchill's restaurant were so gracious and welcoming, and sang "Happy Birthday" with me with their whole hearts! What a surprise and a delight!! Relaxing in the Grand Lounge was so peaceful and perfect. A night in just playing board games, enjoying a glass of wine by the fire was low-key what these busy professionals NEEDED!! Again Chad with his extra special attention to detail left a beautiful gift in the room for my friend that simply exceeded every expectation we might have arrived with. The next day we were pampered and entertained by Regan and Sarah in the spa, and even though Sarah declined my marriage proposal (lol), I would still recommend her to anyone who's looking for an escape by the ocean!! Having never been to Digby Pines before, I had read some reviews in advance so I was expecting a dated property with a nice little spa...and what we got was an absolute gem of a location filled with charm and historical comforts that were simply spectacular. The staff from one end of this property to another can't be applauded enough for how amazing they made us feel. The pride in what they do and the way they all interacted with one another made us feel not only at home, but also valued. We are already making plans to return!! And I simply can't thank you all enough for making us feel like royalty!!

Walking trails were mucky but that's no fault of the property, just the time of year we were here. I would imagine when the gardens are in full bloom the property becomes stunning!

clean room and very quiet

omg the rooms are so small - and single beds! Two rooms should be merged to create a decent size hotel room. The TV should be hung on the wall and not on the dresser- and that dresser takes up so much space... not really room to open a suitcase. The bathroom is tiny and needs to be updated. Love the hotel as it is very beautiful, staff is always friendly, location is ideal but the rooms need a major refresh.

Beautiful setting and facilities. Our cabin was fantastic.

Restaurant was overrated. It did not meet our expectations. Our server was fabulous but everything else was mediocre. We expected a much higher end restaurant to match the resort. The host greeting people upon entering the restaurant was frumpy and dressed in a plaid shirt. That in itself lowered the standard of the restaurant.

Free buffet breakfast was good. The view from the resort was great. The staff were friendly. The resort is old but rustic and has a certain charm to it. I did not try the outdoor pool but it did look nice .The Town of Digby has some good places to eat.

The bathrooms need an upgrade.

The room was excellent, as was the condition and cleanliness of the property. The food was also excellent and the dinner service in the dining room unmatched anywhere we have travelled. An over-all fantastic stay for us.

Our only disappointment was that we had only booked one night. We were not able to enjoy the pool or the surrounding area due to our short stay.
