This place was great. We got to park right outside our room, the staff was so helpful and friendly, comfortable bed, great shower pressure, table for eating in the room, and a lot of space to bring in our road trip supplies. The dog area is the best I’ve seen at a hotel. Almost completely enclosed and well kept. Our dog loved it and being the central place for dogs staying there meant he got to meet other dogs. I’ve attached pictures. But the most impressive thing was that they really don’t have to try this hard for business with Wall being so small and the city to service Badlands National Park but yet they still work hard to make it a great place to stay which made me like the place even more.

Breakfast quality was just ok.

We booked a family unit at the hotel and we were very happy with it: the unit was essentially a small apartment with two rooms, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. With three queensize beds, it was very comfortable for us as a family of four. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the attractions in Wall - everything is essentially within max. 7 minutes walking distance. Even though the hotel was fully booked, it was quiet and well managed.

Breakfast is a noisy and crowded affair: while staff is very friendly and you essentially find everything you need to get a good start to your day, the pool house is rather small to host as many guests as are headed to breakfast together. You might need to wait for a table or take your breakfast to your room. For European guests, it will be rather disturbing to see that all the plates and cutlery are disposable - be prepared to send a lot of waste to the landfill.

We (wife and I) found the staff more friendly, professional, efficient and very 'with it' as compared to other motel/hotels we've stayed at. The room was cleaner and better maintained as compared to the competition as well. During breakfast, a staff member actually paused at our table to ask how our stay was going. In my haste in departing I left an item in my room. The staff (including the owner) really went the second mile to locate it and ship it to me. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll lodge at the Best Western Plains Motel.

If I had to think of something, it would be the milk ran out during breakfast. However, within 15 minutes the milk dispenser was refilled. That's it.

It’s obvious this family takes pride and care in this business. The staff is friendly and genuine. My expectations were exceeded for this location. Breakfast was good.

Not this property’s issue, just know there are few options for an evening meal in Wall in the off-season, even on Friday at 5:30pm. Wall Drug, for example, only operates during the daytime. I found a local bar/restaurant down the street from the hotel after walking around town a bit. Some info found online is not up-to-date, including what looks like a bit fancier place that was supposedly open but the doors were chained shut.

Location, 2 pools, friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Clean. Location is perfect to see Badlands, starting from either the West -or- the East entrance.

Breakfast, while the staff was friendly and attentive, the eggs tasted weird. Good enough if I had been backpacking for 16 miles the day before & then skipped dinner, but I had not. I don’t eat pork, so other than milk/yogurt there were no protein options for me. Also: bring your own tea if you like non-caffeine tea, like mint etc. no herbal tea options.

Easy check-in and room access. Very nice pool area and hot tub. We stayed in the off-season, so it was quiet due to fewer fellow guests. The staff at breakfast were incredibly friendly and a great source for information about the area, weather, etc. The classic horseshoe motel design suits the location and vibe of Wall perfectly.

Room had a slightly unpleasant odor, probably from the carpet. Not oppressive, just ever-present.

Clean, nice staff and a good location.

Our family room was back in a corner behind the stairs. It had plenty of space. No windows in the front room The cleaning staff park their cart there making it hard for us to access our room. We’re forced to squeeze by. One foot on the sidewalk and one up on a curb. Very dangerous as I have balance issue and am recovering from a serious illness.

We really enjoyed the family style suite we had. It work well for us. The texting communication was very nice. I did realize I may have left my pillow. And text the number a few days later. Even though they did not find my pillow.They were very helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pool Area. it looks so nice. Great 1st stop of our vacation.

Conveniently located, very clean, great staff. Breakfast got a little crazy/crowded, but the staff quickly adjusted. I think this was an excellent value for the money and would recommend this hotel to others.

We ended up sitting in the pool area for breakfast, so it was a little humid in there. But truly, that was the "worst" thing that happened and it really was not bad.

Staff was amazing, very friendly. Felt like family. It snowed unexpectedly about 5 inches overnight and several of the staff were out shoveling at 5am! They even shoveled between each of the cars as a walking path. They also provided brooms to clean cars the off. Breakfast was really good. Provided great advice about the Badlands park. We had the family suite, 2 adults 3 teenagers and it was very comfortable. Beds and pillows were comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Bathroom was a bit tight.
