We really enjoyed our stay at the Rostrevor. We booked a one bedroom island view room and were on the 5th floor. Island view is not ocean view. Our kitchen window faced inland to the island, our balcony faced west. Because we were on the 5th floor, we could see the ocean from the side, and the sunsets, although we didn't take pictures because the top of the hotel next to us was in the way. The point is, if you want ocean view, book accordingly. The one bedroom suite is very spacious with a large balcony that had two separate tables on it. The living room had a pull out couch and two chairs, although we never used the pullout, so can't comment on comfort level. The bedroom is huge with plenty of room to store luggage. King bed was very comfortable, and bedding and towels were of a good quality. You can access balcony from both rooms. Bathroom was large too, shower only in this unit, which was all we wanted. We wanted the kitchen for breakfasts and lunches only. It had a two burner gas cook top, microwave, large fridge and was outfitted for four people. There are two convenience stores within a block of the hotel, and full grocery stores in Worthing, which was a 15 minute walk. Housekeeping was very good, the entire hotel was well looked after. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. There are washers and dryers available for a very nominal fee, and they also provide large beach towels for a nominal, refundable deposit. The pool is not huge, but big enough to paddle around in. The pool and deck overlook the ocean. The Rostrevor also has it's own sliver of beach, which we loved. We alternated between pool and sea. If you wanted a larger stretch of beach, you could walk 7 minutes to Dover Beach, or 15 minutes to Worthing. We just never bothered. There can be sargassum, depending on the wind direction, but many days there was none. We never had a problem getting sun loungers either.

We wanted to be in St. Lawrence Gap. You could walk out the door and choose a different restaurant every night. For that reason, we never ventured to another area to eat. The area is easily walkable and we felt safe due to the sheer number of people. However, it is home to many nightclubs, and they do blast music till 3am most nights of the week. We could hear the music from our room, but it did not interfere with our sleep. This may depend on the location of your room though. Can't say for sure.

Service and attention.

The hotel beach was extremely small, steeply sloping sand and generally rough owing to wind and swell. In calmer conditions bathing is safe and pleasant. Certainly not for children or grown ups with impediments. Swimmiong pool far too small for this size of hotel. Can't imagine the situation when hotel is full.

Loved our stay here! Great room on 3rd floor in Deluxe Double Seaview room- with balcony and the most amazing sea view!! Lots of sunbeds in various places!! Pool terrace great for sunbathing so close to the sea! Hotel in brilliant location amongst bars and restaurants close to 2 great beaches!! Will definitely be back next time we stay in St Lawrence Gap!!

Only reason didn't rate it 9/10 is because of music noise coming from bars late in the evening! However if u keep your bathroom door closed it definitely helps! And I never found the sound intrusive enough to stop me going to sleep and I am a poor sleeper!!

The hotel is right on the beach, the view is spectacular. There is a small beach where you can swim, or you can walk 5 minutes to Dover beach. The sea at the hotel beach is calmer, and the size of the beach is enough if you don't want to swim far. There are more than enough beach chairs on the property. The room is fine, the balcony is great. The kitchenette is adequate to be able to make your own meals. There is a small convenience store a couple minutes away on foot. The restaurant Harlequin right beside the hotel is very good. There is a very noisy bar across the street with music late into the night, but we barely heard it from the bed. The personnel is very nice and accommodating (most of them).

The air conditioner blows directly at you head when you are in bed. Some of the appliances are pretty old, but everything is working.

Lots of restaurants within a couple of minutes walk, along with a convenience store with all the essentials. The hotel beach wasn't big enough to sit on but there are plenty of loungers seaside and stairs to get down to the water for swimming. (And Dover and Worthing beaches in walking distance.) Nice balcony with a sea view. We had breakfast one morning and it was good. St Lawrence Gap is busy but street noise was not an issue for us. Lots of repeat visitors here and I can see why.

Shower is small but workable.

Location very good on beachside and central Best thing - the staff were so professional and friendly and extremely efficient from arriving to leaving especially receptionist Chenise I believe her name was She was so lovely and cheerful and went out her way to help it was so refreshing and restored our faith in Barbados as another hotel we stayed recently was the opposite

One big issue for us is lack of bug screens on windows and doors in room We were very badly bitten by mosquitoes due to bathroom window only wood slats so even when closed they were able to get in and front patio door should have a separate mesh curtain to help protect while going in and out I’m afraid it was so bad it would put us off staying there again

The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, and did everything to help make my stay even more pleasant. Excellent views from the balcony of my Ocean Front One Bedroom Suite on the third floor. The location of the hotel in Saint Lawrence Gap is great, a short walking distance to the beautiful Worthing Beach and Dover Beach, which I found much more pleasant than the touristy and run-down Carlisle Bay.

The room is facing the sea on one side, but the street on the other side, where on many nights the music is simply (too) loud. Fortunately the bedroom is facing the seaside, although noise still traveled via the bathroom, which has wooden shutters towards the streetside. Suggestion for the hotel is to create more noise insulation by replacing the bathroom shutters with opague (double) glass.

The staff at breakfast were lovely. Food was good. The pool is big. There were a few trees for shade as well as umbrellas and sun beds. The view from the balcony is very nice. Although on a quite busy street, especially in the evening, we didn’t hear any noise. For those wanting to be close to bars & restaurants, the location is good.

I hated the pillows! They were hard and gave me a neck ache. The lounge chairs are old. There is no beach to walk or sit on. There are stairs going down to the water but I wouldn’t, it looks a bit dangerous.

Room was cleaned daily to a very high standard and well appointed, access via stairs or excellent lift.Free wall safe. Shower facilities excellent.Bed extremely comfortable and the patio double work well.

Fridge Freezer very small and odd design.Wardrobe doors consistently came off hinges also the front door to the apartment had no latch so had to make sure it was dead locked both on entrance and exit. We never informed reception, no need really.

It was an excellent environment. The room was spacious and colorful. It had an excellent view of the ocean. I enjoyed the swimming pool as well. everything was good about this place, including the location. close to everything we needed. I would stay here again.

I would have liked to have an elevator so we could visit our friends. But, that was not really a big deal for us.
