The hotel was original in a very positive sense, the staff were friendly, the breakfast and evening meal was good.

No escalators, not a problem for me and my wife, but for someone with walking difficulties this would have been a problem.

A lovely old building with good bones, and great dining. The proprietor is evidently trying to do it up, and with a little more work it could be an absolute gem. Our room and bathroom were a good size, the bed was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant…a very very good meal

Like much of the upper parts of Thiers this hotel seems very much on its last legs. Despite ifs signage the big restaurant is not functioning, not even for breakfast, and at 8.30am in early September there was staff in evidence. So I just let myself out.
