Quiet location on the edge of a tiny town & edge of the forest yet within short drive of the sites in the area. A very warm welcome to a stylish ground floor bedroom (= garage conversion to guest room) with a very comfortable bed and superb ensuite bathroom. All immaculately clean. Kettle and tea-making facilities were much appreciated. Fridge in the wardrobe. Loungers were put out for our use in the guest area of the garden. Had breakfast at the nearby bakery (3 mins stroll) on the first morning to make a early start for Giverny visit - beat the crowds. On the second morning we had the breakfast provided by our gracious hosts. An excellent spread well worth the EXTRA cost.

Felt a little rushed on the last morning to vacate the room especially as it was a Sunday morning. We suggested enjoying a leisurely breakfast @ 8.30 as our reservation documents stated check-out time was not until 10.30. We were encouraged to have a swift breakfast and an early check-out because "we have other guests arriving today and need to prepare for them". A first in all our years of travelling... A little disappointed with that... Otherwise this would have been a 10.

We loved staying here. We came for the Olympic Games, but also saw some lovely local places as well as Monet's Garden. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and gave us helpful recommendations for places to visit locally. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well equipped. The weather was very hot the week we stayed so we appreciated having a fridge in the room and being able to sit in the garden. Breakfasts were delicious. There is a little bakery in the village.

NB. Make sure you go to Rue de Vernon, Bois -Jérôme and not a Rue de Vernon elsewhere!

à l'orée du bois is a homely retreat and perfect for a quiet getaway. The property is within easy reach to Claude Monet's Garden and local eateries. Both Pierre and Marie-Ange (and their friendly dog) were welcoming hosts to their tastefully decorated and well-appointed room with en suite. The optional breakfast was excellent and wholesome, elegantly laid hi out by Marie-Ange in a cosy conservatory overlooking their well tended private garden. This is a deserving B&B that is excellent value for money - offering a calibrated touch of luxury and pampering without the excessiveness that would break your bank account! We’d traveled for over three weeks and were ready to slow down, and see Giverny thoroughly! Quintessential country France. The optional breakfast was delightful. The bathroom was so luxurious and large! Hosts remarkable…English was quite good.

I never wanted to leave. We used Uber and spent 20 E most trips, the host said we were his first in 5 years without a car…

A warm welcome from our host. Excellent breakfast. Hosts provided a sumptuous gluten and lactose free breakfast for me. I was so grateful and it was honestly the best breakfast we had during our 3 week holiday touring France, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium! It was served in the conservatory overlooking the pretty garden, which was a lovely start to our day. Good sized, modern bathroom. Refrigerator provided. Secure parking

The room itself was rather small and cramped as we had 2 suitcases and didn’t want to empty them into the wardrobe as we were only there for one night. We were asked not to eat in the room!

To a tourist from Australia, being a B & B, it is expected that the cost of breakfast should be CLEARLY included in the Booking.com advertised cost to stay so that a cost comparison to similar properties can be made BEFORE booking. To be clear, this was not only the fault of the property owner, but it was a disappointment to find this extra cost on arrival. Thus we chose NOT to eat breakfast ( on principle) at the property after being told the price & chose to eat “on the road” at a nearby bakery. It spoilt the last of our wonderful 2 week stay in many B&B’s in France (all included breakfast) Luckily we had only booked one night here. However, the room was delightful with little “bathroom extras” that were appreciated & we loved the ability to lounge privately in the garden. It was also a perfect location for our last tourist stop at Monet’s garden. Unfortunately such a sour taste left by this last Booking.com experience in France.

This place is a hidden gem! Lovely location very close to Giverny and Vernon. Extremely comfortable bed and very modern bathroom. The breakfast was exceptional; wonderful choice of fruit, yogurt, breads and cheeses! The host and Hostess did everything the could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. BOOK THIS PLACe if you need to be anywhere nearby!

Only issue we had was bookings.com directed us to a similar address property in a nearby town. Fortunately the occupant there was very nice and had a map for us to use to get to the correct address. It was obvious that this wasn’t the first time someone went to that wrong address.

The hosts were very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The hosts helped us to book a nearby restaurant for dinner.

It was a bit odd to have to take our pillows out of a cupboard to put on the bed but this was not really a big issue. It's a bit of a drive to go out to eat.

À lÓrée du Bois is nestled in a lovely garden on the edge of the woods. The hosts are warm and thoughtful and provide one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. With the morning meal served out in the conservatory, surrounded by nature, we hated to leave the breakfast table. All local produce, jams by our host, baked goods from up the way, cider from a local ciderie, milk from nearby cows, the delicious omelette's eggs from a farm not far away...We will be returning soon!
