Lovely quiet location. A very characteristic building. The rooms weren't large, but big enough for our single overnight stay, with a comfy bed and nice shower. The staff were very nice and helpful. Although a small evening menu, the food was excellent and a good experience. Breakfast was equally of a high standard, especially the coffee. It is a lovely garden to wander around with great views over the fields. The swimming pool looked inviting but we did not use it. We will use the hotel again when in the region.

A beautifully renovated collection of farm buildings just on the outskirts of Chatellerault. The staff spoke English and could not have been more helpful or charming. We had dinner there which was excellent, flavoursome, plentiful and great value for money. We were only passing through so didn’t have time to enjoy any facilities but I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it. A truly delightful stay.

Friendly hospitable staff. Lovely quiet location. Good, tasty if limited dinner menu including local produce.

No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The ensuite shower room was very small. My tipple is sparkling wine, there was not much choice. Given it's location I was surprised not to see a Loire Valley Cremant on offer. The champagne available was the priciest of all the champagne I sampled on my trip.

It was everything we could have wished for after a very busy motorbike tour. Visually impressive, relaxing and really friendly and helpful staff. The evening meal was very good, breakfast equally as good. Stunning grounds, great pool area. It will be a favourite stop off for us in future tours of Europe.

Nothing at all!

Quick check in. Room was better than expected. The hotel was quiet only two other guests and very rural. Pre arranged evening meal was great, not gastronomic, but perfect after a long drive from the Normandy coast. Breakfast was totally adequate with fresh pastries, yoghurts, fruit juice, coffee, etc.

This is a beautiful spot in a lovely old building. Rooms are decent size and clean with a good shower. Not all the rooms are old though. Grounds are lovely with outside eating space. Dinner needs booking on arrival and menu was good local food but not fancy. Breakfast was great with local products for €14 each. A great stopping off point between Calais and Bordeaux and Northern Spain.

We visited on our outward and return journeys. The outward journey was great. On the return a different room which was hot but there is no air con. Unfortunately opening the window helped with temperature but not sleep. The grounds of the hotel are lit up like an air field. Worse the local farmers dogs barked constantly at everything until 2am. Not really the hotels fault.

A delightful location, full of history. The room in the pigeon loft was spacious and comfortable. We wandered around the lovely gardens and ate fresh peaches and apples from the trees. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The owners and staff were incredibly welcoming and were happy to talk about the property and gardens.

We only had one night!

The property is authentic and really well renovated. It has character and charm. The staff were great and very accommodating with parking our motorcycles in a more secure spot than the open car park. Food was lovely, both at dinner and breakfast, using lots of local ingredients. We will definitely stay again.

Lovely setting and gardens. Beautifully renovated rooms and exterior. Buffet breakfast was first rate and good value for money. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed on the Sunday we visited but the reception sent recommended local restaurants by email. Could perhaps do with fridges in room and possibly a mini bar/honesty bar to cope with Sunday when the Hotel bar is closed.

Nothing on this visit.

It’s a beautiful property and has wonderful gardens. It was great for our dog as we could just open the door from our room and she had access to a garden. The food for dinner was delicious (although the menu is limited) which wasn’t a problem for us. Breakfast variety was also great. Finally staff were helpful and friendly
