Brilliant hosts - welcoming, engaging, helpful, providing lots of useful information, to say nothing of a pleasant conversation over aperitif in late afternoon. The property is a gorgeous chateau with a beautiful garden surrounded by woods. There is ample parking on site. The place is just a few kilometres from Condom, technically it is inside the municipal area. The hosts say animals abound, but I didn't see any, except birds. Lots of interesting places to visit around - Hélène will give you all the info. Only upon arrival did I find out that Hélène comes from one of the more famous Armagnac-producing families. The collection of bottles in the dining room is fascinating, you can buy some, and you may be offered a dégustation before you commit! Breakfast is excellent.
I should have stayed longer. I will, next time. Just a warning unrelated to the Maison d'hôtes itself: depending on where you arrive from le professeur Google may decide that it knows a shortcut. Don't believe it (unless you are in a Landrover, at least): stick to the main paved road to/from Condom and turn into the woods from it when you see the sine with the place's name on the roadside.

We loved the atmosphere, the rural location, the charming hosts and in particular Helene who took great interest in all her guests and spent time with each providing information on local attractions which we would not have known about, like the nearby “France,s smallest fortified village” and many others. We only stayed one night as we were on a schedule but would have planned more had we known more. Thank you Helene and John

Lovely building in beautiful surroundings. Comfortable bed in a large room in a wonderfully restored old building. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Very helpful hosts in every way. 6.30 pm glass of wine and a chat was a nice touch. Armagnac free tasting was also much appreciated. Purchase from the family estate was also possible. Good breakfast also included. We will be back.

Helene and Jean were wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Helene suggested excellent trips each day with maps and also good restaurants for an evening meal. Breakfast was very good with lovely homemade jams and cakes. There was a welcome glass of wine every evening. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Beautiful building and setting. The owners were very friendly, spoke good English and offered good recommendations on eating and sightseeing. Also offered aperitif in the evening. Breakfast was good with homemade products.
Unfortunately the coffee machine was broken and no facility in the room for a hot drink. Also no shower gel/ shampoo during our stay.

What struck me most, beside the hands-on attention we received from Helene and Jean were all the value-added details which we had never encountered before - such as detailed tour maps with personal recommendations and explanations, reservations Helene would make for us any where, courtesy cocktail hour each day, phenomenal library on Gascogne to peruse, lush premises with rose garden next to lovely lounging chairs, and on and on.
Honestly can not think of a thing.

Super location and stunning property. Lovely room and extra facilities ie fridge, microwave and coffee making in separate communal area for guests if wanted. Hosts Jean and Helene were welcoming and very knowledgeable about area with plenty of sightseeing tips.

- the shower was unfortunately quite bad looking (no pic on the website) - overpriced for what is offered

The guest house is ideally located on the outskirts of Condom, about 5mn away by car. Upon arrival we were cordially greeted by Helene and Jean, the owners of the property. They are both very passionate about what they are doing and they made sure that every little detail was taken care of during our stay. The room was on two levels, very clean and spacious, with free wi-fi which is always appreciated. The guest house is entirely renovated and it is an amazing feeling to stay in a property with such history while being in total comfort. We started every morning with a gigantic breakfast that included a wide selection of items: the legendary pancakes prepared by Jean, fresh baguette toast, delicious jams (the one made from local melons and spices was our favorite), French toast with a local twist, freshly baked croissants, cheeses, ham, etc... After this Helene made sure to send us prepared to explore the surroundings and provided us with a different itinerary and things to do / see every day. During the day we would have lunch in one of the restaurants recommended by Helene and in the evening we would buy a few local products from the nearby supermarkets and enjoy dinner at the property. A friendly aperitif between all the guests and the owners would be held every day at 6:30pm and added a very personal touch to the stay as we were also able to get to know interesting people from different horizons and nationalities. One fact worth mentioning: Helene's family owns the Domaine de Millet which is located about 30mn from the guest house, and we also went there to visit the place. Helene's sister is very nice too and she gave us great advice regarding the different types of wines and Armagnac that they are producing, after enjoying a tasting session of course! Overall our stay was amazing and we would definitely recommend the guest house run by Helene and Jean to anyone who is looking at exploring the Gers area. Thanks again and hope to be back soon!
Nothing really, we wished to have stayed longer!

This really is hospitality at its best. It feels like home from home. Hélene and Jean provide a warm Gascon welcome to their beautiful home. The home is very well set up for visitors with plenty of water and tea and coffee making facilities. You can use fridges to store food and make simple food. The grounds are beautiful and there are wonderful books to peruse in the beautiful long salon. Dinner is a stunning affair around a great table with delicious home-cooked and home-grown food. Breakfast is delicious too and there is plenty of it. So you don't really need to worry about lunch. Hélene provides the best local insights for tourists and takes great pleasure in helping you to plan your perfect day. I left wishing I could have stayed longer.
