Our very friendly, interesting and welcoming host showed us inside the house and it was absolutely gorgeous! We were wowed. Beautiful accommodation, grounds and setting and the hospitality we received was fantastic. We were provided with some local recommendations for food and events upon which we followed up. We also enjoyed an early morning run along the river on a route suggested by the host. Our bed was particularly comfortable and we were able to taste the 'home-grown' honey with our breakfast. Would definitely be delighted to stay here again! Our favourite B&B in France so far: so nice.

We booked 13 Bees without going into it too deeply because we wanted a stopover 100 miles north of the Dordogne to reduce the driving time the next day to reach St Malo for the ferry home. We arrived at 1900, just as the sun was setting over the Vienne which was right outside our bedroom window. We opened the windows to enjoy the beautiful setting and view all the more. The following morning we had another excellent view and saw a heron, a cormorant and an egret all in one glance. Amanda and Kevin have a beautiful house of style and character, so what we thought would be a routine stopover became a delight in its own right and enhanced by their friendly welcome and a good breakfast to send us on our way.

Hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Breakfast spread was fantastic. Facilities were superb. We arrived in a heatwave unseasonably hot at 38-44 degrees usually much less than 35 degrees. Hotel was cool, clean, spacious and really nicely positioned overlooking the river Vienne on a quite off road. A great stay all round.

Everything, from the welcome cup of tea on arrival, to the comfortable room, to the breakfast, it was all perfect. Amanda & Kevin are lovely hosts, nice to chat to. Nice to have access to the lounge in the evening to relax

Very spacious and stylishly furnished room in a beautiful house. Huge and comfortable bed and excellent shower. Quiet location next to the river but only 10 minutes walk to the village where there is an good Thai restaurant (Asiatic flavours). Great stop for cyclists on the Scandibérique cycle route as there is a garage for storing bikes. Amanda and Kevin were very friendly and helpful and work hard to run an excellent B&B

Everything. The property was beautiful and close to the lovely historical town of Confolens. Amanda and Kevin were excellent hosts being both friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and had a beautiful view over the River Vienne. A delicious continental breakfast was provided. We would definitely return to 13Bees if we were in the area again. Excellent. Perfect.

Fantastic B&B. Great hosts, very welcoming. The location is set opposite the river and is very peaceful. Rooms are really big and the bed was perfect. The breakfast is lovely. Only a 5 minute walk to town. Looking forward to returning next year.

Picked this b&b as a first night stop-over on our way to the South so we could visit Confolens. It was so peaceful and relaxed that we will make it a regular stop on our way to and from our house. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, our only disappointment was we didn’t have time to see the bees - next time!

Nothing - it was perfect for our needs

Very large confortable bed, good breakfast, a haven after a long trip from overseas. Easy to walk into town.

Perhaps more than one croissant allowed per person at breakfast? But a minor suggestion only. Bear in mind there are stairs if you have heavy luggage.

The location to the town was fantastic, a ten minute walk to all amenities. Lovely quiet location by the river. Breakfast was lovely with fruit, pastries and cereal.
