The inn is lovely, inside and out, and set in the most picturesque courtyard of the loveliest hilltop village. The dining area feels like one is entering a gorgeous illustration, perhaps from a favorite book of childhood, with so much to look at and enjoy. Breakfast is a basket of fresh croissants and sliced baguettes, goats-milk yogurt, fruit, a selection of preserves and honey, and assorted granola, cereal, etc. Coffee and tea and delicious, locally-pressed juices like apple-ginger were on offer. Julie also displays local artwork, pottery, and items from the breakfast menu for purchase. Our room was perfectly comfortable and the big windows allowed us views of the fountain and sky at all hours. The shower was small but very nice, with both overhead and hand-held spouts. We booked the family suite and shared the second room with a friend. Because the bathroom and shower are in the larger of the two rooms, one should note that allowing each other privacy is essential. There was plenty of storage space to unpack all our gear for adventuring and attending a wedding. Julie, the proprietress, was fantastic from our very first communication and throughout our four-night stay. She shared wonderful dining suggestions around the Luberon region and within Saignon, and helped us think through our day trips, sharing local knowledge (we loved exploring Apt on Market Day!), and providing a much-needed iron and board so we would all look our best for the wedding. She is lovely!

This is no complaint, but merely an important note for anyone who is not a nimble walker: The town is hilly and cobblestoned, and the entrance to the inn is located down a short but steep slope. Also, the interior stairs to the rooms are steep. I feel that to live there are traverse the hills each day might just be the secret to a long and healthy life!

The property is delightful as was our room. Julie, the owner and her daughter looked after us very well. Julie is a fount of information about the area so you were never short of places to visit. The breakfasts, with lots of lovey homemade products were fabulous. The village is everything you ever dreamed about - the perfect, picturesque French stone built buildings, full of character served with plenty of places to eat and drink.. The location of the property on the little square with the fountain and the bar was a dream. We will be back.

Nothing - it was perfect.

Breakfast was excellent, just a shame it was served indoors. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable but there was very little privacy with the wash basin and shower. There was a very nice view and a big window but nowhere to sit and enjoy the view. The hostess was very helpful and friendly but couldn’t be contacted when we arrived.

More outside space to sit and enjoy the views and the weather would have been very welcome.

The breakfast was amazing with delicious coffee, fresh breads, homemade jams and yogurt. Everything was lovely. The owner went out of her way to serve us and make sure everything was to our liking. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the family ambiance was much appreciated.

Everything was awesome.

Charming little house in a beautiful village perfectly located for discovering Provence and in particular the Luberon. Julie is very attentive and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious with local products and homemade jams. The Cave Gourmande restaurant is highly recommended - also run by Julie.

We loved everything about this property. Starting with the adventurous journey coming from the south of France going through all the mountains. Then when we arrived to this little town it seemed like you're in a romantic French movie. The property is very well maintained, decorated and clean and we found it to be one of the most beautiful in that town with vines covering the entire facade that reaches the cafe where you take the breakfast, super cozy. And finally, the owner Mrs. Julie was super attentive to us and even recommended places to visit near that town.

We liked everything about this property. about the village, Something that you need to know is to make reservation to eat at a restaurant in the village probably the night before because most of them will be booked if you try to reserve the same day.

We had a fabulous time at La Maison près de la Fontaine! This Bed and Breakfast is just charming located in the beautiful village of Saignon. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly, and they added much to our stay. We truly enjoyed every aspect of our trip and can't wait to go back. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. Terrifc walk in shower, which is a rarity in Europe! Breakfast was scrumptious, and the hosts were very accommodating to my health issues. They made terrific recommendations for which areas of Provence to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
