Fabulously situated in the midst of ancient cypress trees and beautiful grounds, this gorgeous old manner house has been lovingly converted into a luxury hotel with swimming pool, sauna , steam room and gym. The property retains its original character which is reflected in the decor and fittings. We slept in the Orangery in a spacious room with ready access to the grounds where we walked with our dog. The restaurant and food were superb, the owner charming , and the staff friendly and efficient. I could not recommend this hotel too highly. It is perfect.

I was impressed by the overall look of the hotel and the room setup. I like very much a park as well inside the island. I appreciated the morning coffee in the balcony with the park view. I appreciated a time spent in spa even though I expected the swimming to be larger.

I dislike the SPA to be available only till 7pm as far as the direct access was through the dinning room, where dinner was served after this time. I dislike the room missing a smart TV to be more attractive with the offer. WiFi access was flapping sometimes.

The small castle has charm and is located in a quiet area. We booked half board and very much enjoyed both the champagne breakfast as the elaborate dinners with decent quality food and excellent wines. Staff was friendly. The room was large with a small terrace and the bed was comfortable.

I can only say that the hotel is quite old, which adds to the charm but also makes some of the facilities a bit worn down (outdoor pool, sauna/spa and the bathroom in our room.

Great restaurant, even for our kids they provided a menu that was a nice gastronomic introduction. The location was great, many walks nearby and seaside visit is just 20 min to Honfleur. Staying at the hotel Spa was also nice as they have a heated pool inside and outside! Highly recommended!

Nice, quiet out of the way castle. Close to honfleur and convenient to the château de Breuil which has a Calvados distillery tour. We were given coupons by the château de belle isle sur Risle for a free tour. Had a wonderful dinner on our first night.

No elevator, so we decided to stay in a different room so we did not have to carry our suitcases up the stairs to the attic room. The other building that we stayed in was lovely and had a rooftop terrace.

The island setting gives the hotel a mystique to its location in a pretty region of France. our bedroom had a private terrace where we enjoyed afternoon drinks in some late summer sunshine. The evening dinner was exceptional and well worth the money. The staff were very attentive and professional. Breakfast was also very good with an excellent range of buffet choose including some hot food options.

Post covid some areas do look a little tired from a maintenance prospective which was most noticeable in the Spa facility which if this had been the focus of our stay would have been disappointing. Pool temperatures however were fine both indoors and out!

Surroundings are green and lush, property gives a Fawlty Towers vibe - which i loved. Also the bath tube whirl pool in our room was very pleasurable.

Outdated and old fashioned - but it’s also charming. One of our rooms had a very strong and bad chemicals smell. Chemicals probably used to hide the cigarette smell of the people that smoked there before.

Beautiful chateau on island between two rivers. Outdoor and indoor pools heated. Free use of kayaks and bicycles. Charming staff

Only small point, but if you wanted to walk into the town it is a 40 minute stroll. We took the bikes.

Tim and all the staff were superb. kind, considerate and extremely passionate & knowledgeable about Normandy. the facilities were excellent, the kayaking made for an exciting trip, complete peace & tranquil making our stay truly relaxing. having air conditioning was bliss and a real bonus helping the family to get a good nights sleep. The quality of the food was wonderful, a strong selection of wines to compliment our dinner.

it is an old property, so don’t expect some mod cons but it is lovingly looked after.

The location was perfect, very beautiful and peaceful. From the moment I arrived until my departure, the service was impeccable, making my stay truly memorable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a remarkable culinary experience and outstanding service.
