We had a wonderful overnight stay at this charming property, Carole and Eddy were very welcoming. We stayed in the family room and all our beds were very comfortable. The surrounding gardens were beautiful, our children loved the play area with the swings and zip wire, seeing the goats, chickens and Guinea pigs, the pool was a fantastic addition which they enjoyed also and was perfect for them after a long journey. The animals were very friendly, especially Vic the dog who our children loved playing with. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely return. 😊

The hosts were very kind and helpful. We could use the kitchen. There were a lot of things to play with for little kids. Beautiful old house, cosy interior. Very lovely cats and dog. Delicious simple breakfast with homemade jam. Beautiful garden and small heated swimming pool to use.

The shared bathroom and toilet were very far from the room, you had to cross the living room and kitchen of the hosts, which felt a little uncomfortable in the beginning.

Very friendly hosts! We shared some laughs, some drinks, and some recipes for good calvados liquor :) also, the building is a picturesque and genuine wooden cottage that is at least 300 years old. The hosts and their company were the best part of the stay.

The stairs to the room were a little steep - some nimbleness required. Also, our room had a bathroom shared with the hosts - not a deal breaker as it was very spacious and clean, but something to be aware for the future guests.

We loved the relaxed and easy environment and the amenities set up for the children. Everything from the minute we arrived instantly relaxed us. The bedroom was very comfortable, we slept very well. The kids loved the animals and the pool! Carole also provided a wonderful breakfast.

The surroundings were beautiful and perfect for relaxation. There were plenty of fun activities for children in the garden by the accommodation. We truly enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it. The breakfast was nice and a pleasant surprise that made our mornings even better.

We loved the warmth of the owners, they made us feel almost like at home in the beautiful preserved house with the nice cats and dog. We did not find a nearly similar French-country-feel-vibe elsewhere on our trip through Normandy.

The house is stunningly beautiful and in a quiet area making for a very peaceful stay. Carole is a fantastic host and made us feel instantly welcome. We loved that there were animals around for us to play with and watch. Breakfast was fantastic, lovely fresh croissants/bread and delicious homemade plum jam! Would definitely recommend and hope to be back again ourselves in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at La Chaumière. Lovely house and great play spaces for kids. Carole was very friendly and helpful and made our stay very pleasant. Would recommend!

Sharing with owner and other families, it’s not a huge issue but definitely a downside.

on my sightseening in France I chose a short stay at a country house in the countryside in Normandy hinterland. and this is what we found. the place was very quiet cosy and places like Etretat and Honfleur were a short drive away. it was four of us (2 teenagers) and our stay was both comfortable and cost effective. and most, the Renards were both great hosts taking care of all our needs and charming as we could have a chat in the evening about the place and it's people.

choices to go out for dinner are relatively limited. restaurant in Pont-Audemer, a couple of kilometers away, need a reservation and though food was good, hosts there seemed not very friendly to us.
