Hey this was a perfect getaway chalet away from the glitz , glamour and noise of the ski villages. This is tucked away in the mountains in a tiny off-beat village where there are little or no amenities so you need a car or plan well with bus trips to and from the shops and ski slopes. Michael the host was very welcoming and the house itself is an old style original wooden house complete with wooden floors and ray burn stove to heat the place. Breakfast is warm and welcoming typically a continental affair but I arranged to have cooked eggs as extra! Mountain views from the windows made it all the more pleasant. About 20-25 minutes from Val D’Isere ski slopes and similar to Les Arcs. If you want a genuine getaway with authentic chalet experience this is a good choice . Only fault was some of the bedroom flooring was creaky so it was hard to move around quietly - other than that things were perfect. Small kitchen with fridge was available with cooking utensils for evening meals should you wish to cook your own. Phil.

Hard to find initially - sign posting could be better in the street

Michel is a wonderful host. His chalet is classic French in an idyllic little spot in the middle of all the best skislopes or if in summer hiking trails. There is a bus available but for those driving its just a few minutes to la rosiere, tignes, val disere and many more. Bourg saint Maurice 20 mins drive! Its super clean, and comfy. Facilities are good! Highly recommend and we will most def be back!

Perfect location to reach all french alpes resorts

The location is impossible to reach with the public tran sport

not your normal hotel stay -1670 “maison au character” cozy interior with a great loft &beautiful views over surroundings where you can have your coffee and breakfast in the morning . great accommodation foe a different kind of experience

parking is near the house meaning that you will have to carry your baggage on some narrow streets and up some stairs to reach “chez Michel “-you will never find it if coming by car -so advise to ring first .Once in the room -we booked the double one -just a drape that separates the actual room from bathroom :) ,also some squeaky floors that will definitely wake up your colleague on a trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night -but guess this comes with house character

Michel is a great host, the house is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and full of character. The hamlet of La Masure is beautiful, very quiet and perfect to relax in after a day on any of the ski slopes within a 20 minute drive.
