This hotel came up on Bookjng as a “rarely available “ and now I know why! It ticked all the boxes for Saint Rémy. Location to the centre ville, free parking at the hotel, en route by foot to the hospital museum where Van Gogh spent his last days, an easy drive to Les Baux. The rooms were well appointed and gave the feel of a lovely old French villa. My friend and my husband and I loved this hotel and the staff were exceptional. We took the breakfast two mornings on our stay and it was great value and delicious with eggs to order your way as well as the continental selection. We planned on spending afternoons by the pool however we were so busy seeing the sights of Saint Rémy and beyond that the pool missed out. It looked relaxing and was popular with guests. Very tranquil.

The property is very close to the main town and yet far enough a way to have peace and quiet. There is an outdoor space where you can have a cup of tea or read a book and it is very nice. It is very close to a grocery store making it very handy to pick up a few things for the day. For €15, you could have a very good breakfast.

We like to open our windows and in general no one seems to have screens on their windows so if you leave them open too long, you’re going to get some bugs. I could’ve used an extra blanket and luckily I was able to find one on my own. The shower is excellent but again it’s this new way of having just a half of a shower door meaning that water gets out and about. This seems to be common in many places. The bed was perfect for me- hard/not soft.

Breakfast was delicious and certainly alot of variety. Much needed air conditioning in room was essential during our stay due to hot summer days. External blinds on windows were an added positive. Lovely spacious room. Small fridge very much appreciated.

The shower had its difficulties as the shower head was not set on the wall but had to be hand held. Not a good situation for older people. Climbing in and out of the bath a hazard. Would have been better if shower head attached to the wall.

This hotel is a rarity. Family owned and run for 70 years, it's perfect. Not 'bijout' or 'smart' but honest. No uniformed resceptionist but a family member or friend. No standing on ceremony or 'have a nice day' style sincerity. Fantastic breakfast with fruit, meats, cheeses, home-made preserves, made to order egg dishes and plenty of strong coffee, all at a modest price. All served around a very clean and blue pool. Cosy. And, to cap it all, our room on the second floor had 180 degree views of the Alpilles including the famour Van Gogh rock with 'devil' eyes and only a 15 minute walk to the famous Van Gogh hospital where you can visit his room and see one of the views that so inspired him and, to add to the excitement and 10 minutes further on the phenominal Glanum site, a Roman town dug out of a field and opposite carved Triumphal arches better than any. St Remy de Provence really is a 5 star location and this hotel is a perfect base.

Friendly staff, excellent location and I had a lovely view of the Alpilles from my room. Room was clean and well-presented. I liked the bedside lamps which enabled me to recharge my phone via the usb point, without the need for cumbersome adaptors from UK devices.

I always like to make tea in my room. I was disappointed that the room did not have a tray of coffee/tea making facilities - unlike other hotels of a similar standard, I stayed at during my stay. As a single traveller- this allows me to retreat to my room and relax with my own tea! For me this would have made the hotel first class and excellent value for money - but I did not give an excellent rating, since this facility was not provided. I would urge the management to re-think this policy- or at least offer this to guests who request it.

Warm and friendly owners and staff. Room small but perfectly formed. A bit of dust around the radiator in the bathroom but otherwise very clean. Comfortable bed and a good view of the mountains from the window. Plenty of garden areas to sit in the shade with a drink or a coffee and a lovely sunny terrace and swimming pool. The breakfast was absolutely excellent. Great choice of savoury and sweet, fresh fruit and juices and lashings of good coffee! Free secure parking too! Easy walking distance to St Remy centre. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was very good but coffee wasn’t but however we changed to green tea which we enjoyed. The breakfast was very varied and we especially enjoyed the pate made by Monsieur. The only thing for less able older people is to be aware that there are only stairs - no lift. And there is no person designated to assist with luggage.

Well located a short distance from the center of St Remy. Parking was easy and free. The breakfast was excellent and worth the cost. Nice family run place

The rooms were pretty sparse. Mattress good but the decor felt old and there were no little conveniences like a teapot or in room coffee. Perhaps most importantly the noise of people coming and going was awful. I could easily hear two people having an intimate connection while walking down the hall.

Hotel staff and proprietors were kind, thoughtful, and caring. They adjusted our room to accommodate my disability. Very clean rooms and surrounding public spaces well cared for and looked recently updated with fresh paint and flooring. King size bed was a good size for my 6’6” husband. Excellent location - an easy 8-10 minute walk to the town centre and 20 minutes to the Glanum ruins and the hospital that Vincent Van Gogh lived in the last year of his life. Secure parking was worry free.

Bed and pillow comfort could be improved. As with many places in the region smoking is allowed in open areas- at the property smokers dominated the pool area, terrace, and garden lounge. For us it was just too much smoke..

Everything about the property was wonderful. The hosts were extremely helpful as we didn’t speak very good French. They had delicious breakfasts with a lot of choices. They had a beautiful well maintained pool that was at 28 deg. A very comfortable room that overlooked the mountain ranges. Just superb.

The stairs we had heavy bags to take up two flights.
