The Niu Timber was a welcome surprise! Loved the attention to the environment a social justice. Loved the gentle encouragement for the adults and children to entertain themselves with old fashioned games. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy! Staff was friendly and helpful! It was nice having Lidl right next door and the walk into Esslingen was quite nice!

The hotel needs to be aware of its implicit bias. Look at HOW people of color are displayed ( especially in the visuals in the elevator); your clients will come from all corners of the world and you need to be sensitive to your messaging.

Everything quite new, clean, personal helpful. Rooms quiet, warm water in the bathroom.

Parking for 15,- €/night overcrowded. You pay a lot and in the morning you cannot leave the parking lot because the car is blocked from all sides. Breakfast - during the main breakfast time between 7:00 and 8:00 they don't have time to replenish the food - there are no scrambled eggs, no selected pastries and only bread remains, for example, a lot of untidy used dishes on the tables. Wi-Fi works, but quite slow and quite high response.

Nice and modern hotel, with friendly staff. Room was very good and mostly clean. A/C was great as it was a hot summer day. Very handy location close to the S-Bahn, as well as walkable to Esslingen center. We would definitely stay again.

When trying to move the shower head up/down, one accidentally takes out the whole rail. The head also needed a proper clean. Booked Double room, but the (pushed together) single beds kept sliding apart.

Facilities in an accessible room for my son who is wheelchair bound were very good - hotel was comfortable with friendly staff

Only one observation in the wet room/shower area - there was no fold up seat on the wall in the shower area which made it a bit more difficult to shower my son - he can’t stand for any length of time so a fold up seat would have improved things

Breakfast was superb! Better than the Hampton Hilton from Munich! Nice staff, the breakfast lady checking the guests was in the spectrum for sure (absolutely loved that they are inclusive) staff dress code is very casual.

Our room was a superior room but there was no glass shower separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom! The whole bathroom got wet. We stayed for one night, but this is a downside for me. For the value I think the dress code should be a bit more on the smart casual side…

Cleanliness and quietness

Breakfast is so expensive so we didnt get it. The half price of the hotel shouldnt equal to the breakfast. If the breakfast had been up to 10 euros we would have bought it. 19 euros is too much. And not a good stategy

I enjoyed our stay at the niu Timber. It was comfortable and spacious.

My only critique is that is was a bit far from the main part of town (we came for the Christmas markets) - It was about a 20 minute walk. Public transport is infrequent and at set times, so walking was the best way. If I ever come back to Esslingen, I would consider staying closer to the center!

Very nice room with comfortable bed and two types of pillows, so you can choose the one you prefer more. There are several grocery stores like Lidl and Edeka located nearby, which I found convenient. Bathroom is also nice and wi-fi worked well.

Receptionist doesn't speak good English, so check-in was a little awkward. It's quite far from central station, so you have to use public transport if you have a luggage.

Me and my partner always have problem with pillows, I like slim one, he likes bigger pillows. This is firs hotel in long time that offered both and we really enjoyed our stay. Shower and bath big.

We were missing a fridge in the room. Would be nicer if that was available.

The stay reminded me of peeling an onion: the location was quiet but uninspiring, but then the young, friendly staff made it better, the beds ensured a great night's sleep..but above all the breakfast!! 5 stars! Superb variety and bio quality. It all just kept getting better.

Location is neither well-connected to the city, nor has anything much to offer in itself
