This was my third or fourth stay at Hotel Maier but my first since the new extension was built. I had a room in the extension which was, obviously, modern and very clean. It had everything you could realistically hope for and was very quiet. The extension has also created an underground car park where I was able to securely park my motorcycle for the night. The staff were all very helpful and spoke good English which meant I wasn’t embarrassed by my schoolboy German. The food in the restaurant was excellent and an extensive breakfast was also provided. I’m sure if I need to stay in Friedrichshafen it will be at Hotel Maier.

Nice hotel with free parking, air conditioned bedrooms and a good restaurant. Staff very good and location is great for both bus and train transport.

Minor points are, I like a help yourself breakfast in a proper breakfast room like they had before the refurbishment. Now you eat your breakfast in the evening rather dark restaurant, and have to be waited on so need to continually put in orders to ensure you do not get it all at the same time. Evening restaurant meals are good quality but limited in choice and quite expensive.

the water in the minibar was free that is ok, but one day they didnat replace one bottle of water and i asked to the night staff one bottle of the minibar and she ( an old lady) answer that i need to buy from the restaurant, that was totally inapropriated as the water in the minbar is free and they didnt replace it.. instead of she look for one bottle and give me free as they said! very sad this lady!!!!!

Breakfast was served, slightly disorganised but overall good breakfast. Dinner great but waited a long time between courses. Parking easy and free bus tickets into town. If you wish to purchase anything hotel has no gift bags, no pricing on purchasing sauna towels. Where the sauna and spa are was not advised. Reception seems to have no-one there but ring the bell. New part of hotel accommodation excellent.

Very nice hotel in a lovely location. Secure garage parking for the motorcycle. It's not actually in Friedrichshafen, it's in Fischbach, on the outskirts. However it's nice enough, and a huge bonus is the lovely little bar right by the lake, only a short walk away

All the restaurants in Fischbach are very upmarket - nothing wrong with that in itself but just for info if people are on a budget. However the pizza in the kebab shop was very nice!

Good location just outside of town. Easy access off autobahn. Special shout out for Liv on Reception she was absolutely fantastic. Couldn't do enough for us explained all about the Free Bus and Trains organised the passes etc a fantastic system.

Car parking was a little lacking.

Room is very good, not big but very comfortable and well kept, bathroom small but has all you need. Breakfast is good but please see the negative section below for full appraisal. Hotel staff are very good. On a positive note the recent introduction of the city tax that gives you free transport by bus/train within a reasonable distance of the hotel is very good and well worth the money.

Breakfast system and lack of car parking space. Since new extension to hotel added a few years ago car park space has become more limited. Breakfast is still my one complaint, since Covid they served breakfast in the evening restaurant which is good for an evening meal but not a great place for breakfast. As such due to its layout they sit you down and you have to choose what you want from a menu and be served at the table. This means you have to regularly get a waiter to get the next part so you do not get everything at the start and some bits get cold. It also means each time you want a drink you have to order it. It was a lot easier with the old help yourself system they had and less labour intensive. Bring back the model Zeplin/ water feature in the breakfast room!!

great staff, good a la carte breakfast outside, airo as it was 30+ outside, carparking, minibar which does not make noise.

the room was a bit noisy, neighbours dropping suitecases before 7 in the morning. and the soap provided in the bathroom had a different smell. room 218.

It was nice perfect temperature with everything being clean, it’s sound proof so we didn’t wake up at night from the neighbours or anything, I would recommend it.

The price is abit too high but I think it’s still worth it

New part is very stylish and comfortable. I really enjoyed the staying there.

My colleague had 27 degrees in his room. After two hours of waiting to resolve it , the lady informed him that she does not know how to fix it. So she asked him to keep the door open🤣
