Just by the German Navy memorial and in front of the preserved U-boat may not appear an obvious place for English visitors but this is a terrific location and both deserve a visit and respect. Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast - there are good restaurants nearby for dinner.

On previous visits we have had rooms fronting onto the sea but I did not ask for one this time and we were in the annex up the hill. Room just as good apart from a steep external staircase to carry our cases up. Ask for a room at the front of the main building.

Fantastic location with sea and sunset views from the bedroom window Directly opposite there’s a pretty beach and a small beach kiosk so you can sit in a deckchair and have a drink while watching the sunset. Incredible Friendly staff We hadn’t realised from booking that breakfast was included. It was a very good breakfast so great value for money

The staff are always super kind even with my broken German. The rooms are very clean, organized and nicely decorated. It is a very lovely area to stay near the water. Within walking distance to the Marine monument.

Nothing negative about the hotel. More options in the local area, for eating when arriving late. Nothing to do with the quality of the hotel.

Great staff. Everyone was really nice and friendly. This genuine friendliness and being helpful whenever they could made for a great experience staying here. Doesn't happen to us often in Germany. Oh and great breakfast, too :)

We've stayed here before. great view from our room to the beach and U-boat and sea. Always something going on when you look out the window. Our room was bright and spacious and window allowed plenty of ventilation. Excellent breakfast included. We also ate in the restaurant on our second night and the meal was excellent

Very friendly staff, always helpful.. Our dog was most welcome. Excellent dog walking beach very close by. Comfortable rooms, tastfully furnished and functional. Good mattresses in the bed. We slept very well. Beautiful views across the Kiel Fjord, interesting to watch all kinds of different boats go past including cruise ships, ferries to and from Scandinavia and the Baltic Countries, but also freighters and commercial traffic. Would love to come again and definitly will.

This was our second visit. The room was comfortable and clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good. The location was excellent.

Pay for a room with a sea view, go for the rooms on the upper floor, rooms 10/11/12/13/14, the view is worth the extra money
