The Hotel Villa Altenburg is located in an idyllic part of Germany, with beautiful surroundings. The building retains a lot of original features, which gives great ambience. The rooms are charming, the decor is authentic in this beautifully restored villa. Excellent breakfast with many choices and imaginative options. We immediately felt at home after being greeted by the friendly staff.

It's very hard to pick any faults with this hotel. Of course, it's always easy to ask for more of anything. Parking is limited but adequate, there is no lift in the hotel but this adds to the charm, plus there is not much to do in the town but its nice and quiet.

Wonderful breakfast, large choice, very delicious meals (both sweat and salty), enough bread, coffee and tee for your desire. I have know bigger ones for sure, but that does not really matter, the environment and offer seems perfect.

Technically nothing, but just to nitpick: the noise of the stairs at night. We were getting in late and were afraid of being a nuisance! Anyway, not a big deal of course.

Hotel Villa Altenburg will stay in my memory forever. Everything was fantastic, I could rest very well after work. The hotel crew was more than brilliant. They were always smiled all the time. What can I say I highly recommend this hotel to every ppls who have plans to visit Pößneck, doesn't matter if for business or private purposes.

It was strange being on my own in the hotel, I suppose their season is only beginning. Had to drive 20 mins for dinner, but then the trip to the Ratskeller in Saalfeld was worth it: magnificent.

Very smart venue with quality fittings and furniture. Excellent value for money. A stay here won't disappoint.

A lift to the 2nd floor would be helpful, however a minor inconvenience.

A wonderful hotel, with many german old and classicsl furniture combined with new interieurs. Pleanty of soace around and a wonderful garden.
