We stayed at Filoxenia Apartments in Kythera for our honeymoon, and everything was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, Marina, our wonderful host, gave us the warmest welcome with a beautifully romantic decoration in our apartment. The place was spotless, very spacious, and offered a stunning view of the mountains. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices every morning. The whole staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help. The swimming pool was beautiful and extremely clean, and the poolside cocktail bar was such a nice touch! They even helped us book a rental car and arranged a taxi for our return to the airport, which made everything so easy. The apartment is spacious and cozy with a large bathroom, very clean. The whole structure is in excellent condition, the breakfast area is nice where to enjoy a large choice of salty or sweet food. The real bonus are Marianna and Michalis, they manage the hotel at the best with a friendly staff. We spent 8 days and we felt like to be at home. A stay at Filoxenia is highly recommended!

Just my personal feeling about the pillows: too much fluffy. Maybe to give a second option could be appreciated.

This is a family owned hotel that exemplifies Greek hospitality - fresh breakfast cooked daily by the owners, every effort made to meet and anticipate the needs of guests, and all executed with an invariably welcoming smile and warm heart, including from the friendliest cleaners on the planet. There is a great atmosphere throughout the day, from the buzz at breakfast to the socializing around the pool followed by drinks in the early evening. The hotel's location is extremely convenient: within a few minutes' walk from several organised and unspoilt beaches, Agia Pelagia also offers numerous local restaurants and cafes to cater for all tastes, from brunch to traditional Greek pastries to oven baked pizza and good seafood: arguably the broadest choice at any single location across the island. There is loads to do, and in our 3 weeks staying at Filoxenia we barely managed a first pass at the island's most stunning beaches which, even in peak August season, rarely felt crowded. The open air live music concerts in squares, beaches and cafes were a particular highlight, as was the pervasive kindness and laissez-faire of the people of Kythira. We will be back to create more great memories...

Our stay at Filoxenia exceeded our expectations. The entire property is beyond beautiful with a bar and very clean pool. The staff were beyond kind and helpful, even calling a taxi when we needed. The breakfast is insanely good with a wide variety of choices. The room itself was huge, very clean and had amazing air conditioning with a very comfortable bed. Our stay was amazing and if you want to stay I. Agia Pelagia, it is well worth the money!

There is nothing that could have been improved

We loved this hotel & could have stayed a lot longer! It’s the perfect distance from the beach & restaurants. Our room was huge, with a large terrace. The pool is lovely & perfect for a dip & drink at the end of the day. The staff were all wonderful - fun, friendly & v professional. The buffet breakfast was perfect! We would definitely return.

Had such a lovely stay The apartment was Amazing!so comfy,beautiful and squeaky clean, equipped with everything we needed. Located around the corner literally just steps from the beach,restaurants,cafes,market Worth mentioning we Really enjoyed the breakfast ,as quality it was amazing and all products are so very fresh ,had great variety of options and the terrace that is served is really wonderful ,made my day Big Big thank you to the Staff always so helpful,thoughtful and professional truly remarkable Looking forward visiting again

The rooms are very spacious, very good beds , big bathroom and nice balcony. Everyday the bed/ bath linen are changed. Mariana, george and michael are excellent hosts. The pool is nice and refreshing. The hotel is very close to the beach. Breakfast superbe. We had a very nice and relaxing holiday. We will be back.

Marianna and all her team welcomed us to their family run hotel as if we were Family. The hotel was so comfortable, clean and well run. The pool was available until 10pm at night and was equipped with a bar . The breakfast was fresh everyday and with the best frappes and fresh organge juice. All the staff know who you are and treat you with exceptional warmness. They can recommend day trips and restaurants. We would highly recommend this hotel and the area it is in to stay.

Spacious and clean rooms, exceptional staff and great location. Breakfast was great, and we found the recommendations on the map handed to us at welcome to be very helpful!

The extra bed could use an upgrade.

Filoxenia Apartments is located in a very good spot, near Agia Pelagia beach and taverns. Our room (3rd flood) had a huge balcony with a fantastic sea view. The inside of the room itself was good, with a second smaller balcony available as well. Bed was rather comfy and the bathroom was spacious. The people running the place are very nice and always willing to help.

The breakfast was rather generic I'd say. It had the usual stuff and they were refilling the buffet all times, but I'd suggest introducing some different (and maybe local?) flavors. On another aspect, unfortunately, wifi service was very very bad in our room (we were told of a technical issue when we arrived though) and due to mobile data unavailability service of both Cosmote & Vodafone near the premises, we had an unpleasant experience on this part. Obviously, the latter is not an issue of the hotel, but still, wifi should be up and running perfectly.
