Mykonos town is a pedestrian zone, and the hotel is located 50 meters from where the crowded part of the city starts. It is build around a garden, and coming home into this green oasis is really nice. Our room had a balcony, from which we could look into the green, but also see the rest of the city. For such a central location the hotel was remarkably quiet. The room and bathroom were clean, and even though everything was a bit basic it was perfectly adequate for our stay. I wanted to mention for future reference that taxi's cannot access the hotel, because it is located inside the pedestrian city center (part of its great location). From where taxis drop you off - at the top of the pedestrian street - you need to walk downwards for about 2-4 minutes: 2 minutes without luggage, 4 minutes with luggage. Just be aware of it. Same procedure for leaving by taxi: taxi picks you up at the top of the street so you have to walk with your luggage up a steep-ish alleyway for 3-4 minutes. This was only a tiny bit annoying at arrival and departure, but the great central location of the hotel made up for it by far, and during our stay we only walked around the pedestrian city center, perfectly accessible from Matina Hotel.

Location was great and it offered good value for our money, relative to other options in Mykonos.

There was no shower curtain in the bathtub which made it very difficult to have a stand-up shower without spraying water everywhere. There was no kettle or iron. It would be helpful to let guests know about the water taxi from the new port to the old port that costs only 2 EUR per person, and provide walking directions to the hotel from there. A taxi fare is ~25 EUR and still requires walking a short distance to the hotel.

The Matina Hotel is in the pedestrian area but only a few minutes' walk to where a taxi or car can meet you. It is a wonderful green oasis with tall shady trees and lots of chairs and tables. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and there was even a full length mirror in the bathroom for the party goers to check their outfits in! Julia spent a long time with us showing us the features of Mykonos, where to find the supermarket etc and then helping us book some tours. She was wonderful. Breakfast could be ordered and was served at the outdoor tables under the trees. Highly recommend the Matina Hotel.

Owner was there when we checked in, very professional, friendly ,accommodating and patient. Witnessed her interaction with a couple of difficult customers and she was admirable. Room was clean, comfy beds, inner garden to sit snd have breakfast. Taking into account the limited space available in Mykonos town.. garden is a luxury. Room size was just Ok for 4 people. We had our own corner balcony that could only sit 2 but it is understandable considering where you are. The lady serving us breakfast gets also top rating. We had lazy teens that slept past the breakfast time but she arranged trays with food for them to be eaten in the room. This hotel has been around for decades, is renovated , bathroom maybe 10 years old? But clean. Don't expect full height in the bathroom since they made them with storage space above in those times. So if you are over 1,95m maybe you can't stand up straight but better ask when you are booking. 5 min walk from main street where taxi drops you off. DON'T carry huge suitcases with you to this island, steps and cobble stone alleys. NO cars in old town This is a perfect location in the outskirts of the old town but still a couple minutes walk from everything.

There wasn't anything really not to like. Restaurant at 50m had lounge music till maybe 01 o'clock but double glass windows keep noise out. We had ours open most nights for natural breeze even though air conditioning did a good job. Occasionall loud people walking the side alley.

The hotel is just 5 min. walking distance from Fabrika bus station (where you can find busses to every beach), and 2–3 min. walking distance to the animated area of Mykonos town. Despite being that close to restaurants & bars, it was fairly quite at night. It has a very cute garden, the room was clean and comfortable and the lady in the reception was very sympathetic, kind and helpful. Breakfast was included in our booking, and when we ate little in our first morning, they asked and adjusted the breakfast to our taste.

The only bad thing was the shower, the water was thin and water was leaking outside because one of the shower cabin doors was missing.

This is the most charming, authentic family runned hotel you can find on the island. The woman managed little gem is spottless, super confy, ultra clean and the garden is an oasis in busy Mykonos city center. The location ist strategic and just perfect..and CALM!! Rooms are offering very nice balconies or outside sitting areas..all facing the handcured garden, breakfast is a lovely mediterranean set up, bathrooms are perfect - super water pressure...and the ladies: nothing is to much, they give a full overview of the island and the activities..honestly speaking, none 5 star hotel can compete with such a personal and attentive service. Its all about passion and dedication. I loved the place and would not go anywhere else!!

This place is truly beautiful: although it is located right in the center of Mykonos, it offers peace and relaxation thanks to the large, well-maintained garden and green area that surrounds the property. . The structure is run by wonderful people who truly make you feel at home. They provide you with all the useful information you need for your stay in Mykonos and are always ready to support you with anything you may need.

It’s perfect already maybe the only thing I added is the mosquito net for the window if we haven’t had problem.

From the first moment we enter this hotel, I was extremely amazed by the warm welcome , the ladies in the reception were amazing , they explained everything you need to stay in this fantastic island, the location is perfect , although it is in the centre of the night life , it is very quiet at night. It is close to everything . The garden is beautiful. Very clean hotel They treat you in a very kind way

I had a fantastic stay here! The location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of Mykonos Town, with everything within walking distance. Despite being so central, the hotel has a peaceful, charming garden where I could truly relax. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a great shower — everything I needed for a pleasant stay. Maria, the host, is such a friendly and kind woman. She was always ready to help and made me feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mykonos!

I had a wonderful stay in Mykonos! The room was spotless and well-maintained, making it a comfortable place to relax after a day of exploring. The location was perfect—close to everything yet peaceful enough to enjoy a good night's rest. However, the absolute highlight of my stay was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, kind, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. Their warm hospitality truly made my experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mykonos!
