The place is very nice and the staff is really helpful. We needed to postpone our travel and despite the fact the reservation was fixed via booking, we got the option to come later. The rooms were nice, new and clean. Selection for breakfast was also good. The place is close to the city center with many restaurants. One can park the car in the yard, reservation is needed. Value for money is simply great.

The breakfast room is a bit small, so one needs a reservation for specific time for the breakfast, but all went perfect. The mattresses are a bit soft from my point of view.

This is the best option for Sziget festival. You have entire empty train stopping 4 minutes walk from the accommodation, since 99% of people from Sziget will go in the opposite direction towards Budapest. Train goes entire night every hour and every 15 min in daytime.The town is a popular touristic place with many restaurants and cafes. 900 huf from center of Budapest and Sziget. The cleanliness of this hotel is out of this world. Breakfast has many options, vegetables and fruits, different coffees, meat, cheese, multiple bread types,... The single room was perfect. Bathroom looks new. Furniture is made from wood and it's very stylish. Free towels, toiletries, AC, refrigerator, and bedsheets. English is spoken fluently. You can leave bags before and after the check in and check out in a special room. I was very satisfied with the hygiene at the hotel.

As a light sensitive person, the curtains were not thick enough to prevent light from coming in during the morning. But a sleeping mask solves this. If you like to get up early this is a positive thing.

Matthias Rex was welcoming and our room was modern, comfortable and clean (it is worth noting that our room would only have been cleaned by request during our five-night stay), The 'cold' breakfast buffet was good, with a decent range of cooked meats, cheese and boiled eggs as well as cereals and bread / toast. The 'panzion' is conveniently situated on the edge of the beautiful old town. Free parking was available in a courtyard.

A kettle and tea/ coffee in the room would have been even better

Brilliant location just a few metres walk into the main town. Hotel was beautiful - newly refurbished. We had a huge room with a table and chairs and a kitchen area. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet - had a great nights sleep. Free secure parking was a huge bonus but I think this needs to be booked (we were travelling out of season so not a problem for us). Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Honestly couldn't believe the value for money. Highly recommend!

Loved the breakfast facility, the room was so nicely done,decorated. Elegant and very filling, tasty Hungarian breads, ham, etc. Lovely coffee machine! :) Also tge room was nice, for 1 night it was perfect. Very good bathroom, had a nice shower. The receptionist was very lovely, friendly always :)

The bed mattress was too hard for my taste, but for 1 night it was ok. The TV remote didnt work, also after manual switch on there was no signal, no channels. But i preferred the silence,so all good.

Nice place, comfortable accommodation and a very good location to use as a base and travel further from. In summer it must be a completely different experience so it’s possible we’ll come back again to stay. Superbly helpful and friendly staff.

The bed was too soft for one of us but ok for the other. We found the shower a bit too small. It would be great to have a brush and a dust pen provided for a quick clean without harassing staff for it.

Fantastic little gem in the centre of Szentendre. Our room was so cosy, beautiful with rustic wooden furniture and a brand new shower. The breakfast had a good selection, we really enjoyed it on the sunny terrace. Secure parking was also available, which was a bonus. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. We would definitely come back. Thank you for making our visit so special and comfortable.

Small, but clean and very quiet room - exactly as I needed it. Convenient location within a short walk from the picturesque town centre. Free parking in the yard (though you need to book it in advance). Reliable wifi. Nice staff and possibility to pay in Euro.

No tea-maker in the room. The small table and chair were rather uncomfortable for working with a laptop (but I guess few guest would come to this hotel to work in the evenings).

Spotlessly clean, great location, super-helpful staff, free parking and breakfast. Very quiet. Probably the best place I stayed on this trip! Would definitely come back again.

Parking area was very secure, but a little difficult to get out of. Save yourself the trouble and take the train!
