We left an earlier accommodation one day early, so found this hotel as a bit of a last minute emergency find - so overpaid a bit. When we got there, though, we were absolutely delighted by all aspects! The man who checked us in was so friendly and welcoming - and shared with us a list of all the wonderful birds that frequent the area - this must be a birders' paradise! Our room was very lovely, and the restaurant for dinner was great (a little pricier than average). Breakfast in the morning was varied and lovely - all the cold offerings you'd expect in an Icelandic breakfast. We loved our onw-night stay.

A little pricey, but our fault for the last-minute booking. We really loved the spirit of the town - would recommend this stay!

Very kind and cooperative staff! We were suprisingly upgraded for free with a room with its own bathroom and toilet. Despite we arrived more than one hour after the restaurant has been closed they arranged fo us lamb soups with bred and butter and various drinks. Everything was very delicios and we were impressed how big the soups were! The room was not very big, but it was clean, quiet and comfortable. We have an excellent stay!

Lovely hotel in a charming and very quiet fishing village surrounded by mountains. I highly recommend the view (on the small harbor) from the restaurant wich was excellent and based on very fresh products. Each space was beautifully decorated ! And the staff was very friendly. We even received an upgrade.

We regret a little bit the communication. We advise the hotel to inform people earlier or in a more clear way about the restaurant's opening and closing time. Especially given the lack of alternatives in the area.

We had to stop in this hotel as they closed the main road through the east fiords. The hotel was not cheap, but the room was confortable and clean. There was coffee and tea, and a boiler. No fridge and no TV. The man at the reception was overworked, (as many tourist arrived there at the same time when they realised the road was closed) and he was very helpful.

The only missing thing in the room was the fridge an the TV, and may be for the price we paid, breakfast shoul have been included.

Old place full of history, lots of old furniture/pictures - makes it really interesting and cozy. (shared) Bathroom was clean and nice, renovated. Breakfast (had to be paid extra) was very good, with various fish/meat/cheese/sweet stuff for bread, muesli options and fresh fruit. Coffee/tea/juices. Staff was very friendly. Room had a sink/mirror and options to make coffee and tea. Bed was comfy

in general rooms not too modern and a hint of an old smell to it - but it was clean and didn't stink! So I think it just comes with the whole experience of this place and didn't really bother us. Not cheap - not sure if it is just Iceland price and a rather remote area

I chose Hótel Framtíð rather than stay overnight in my camper van on a recent Ring Road tour, escaping 90km/h winds that had whipped up as I travelled around the Eastfjords in late May 2023. This was my fifth time visiting Djúpivogur, but the first time I'd turned right to visit the hotel. I was relieved to find a room was available, as the journey had been difficult. The hotel was just what I needed - comfortable, well-presented, peaceful and calm. The restaurant served up a splendid pizza as well! The hotel enjoys a fabulous location overlooking the harbour too, making it an ideal place for an overnight stay in the Eastfjords. Look out for reindeer!

There was an oddness in the welcome from the receptionist, even a little difficulty in mutual understanding. I'll put that down to my weariness after the journey.

Hotel Framtid was in front of the port of the town, which was very beautiful. Very cozy room. It had a kettle and free coffee and tea. The heating in the room wasn't working and the guy at the reception very gently changed us to another room.

Not the biggest room for traveling with a lot of luggage. There was nobody in the morning to do the check-out at the indicated time so we left a note and just left.

Our server at the only restaurant in the village, who also checked us in at reception a few hours before was so friendly and accommodating. He told us where to go, such as the local swimming pool and where to posilbilly see the best aurora. And we found it 😀 Food was beautifully delicious!

(The price on our bill) our restaurant bill was a bit steep but , as everyone says in Britain 🇬🇧 Icelands expensive! but the Burger was most probably the best I've ever had!

Feels like being in a chalet in the mountains, with all the wood and the decor. Really nice atmosphere and right in the midst of a cute tiny village. Restaurant also serving good food fresh from the day, perfect way to close off a long day of sightseeing.

Everything was great!

Great location just by the harbor. Guests can have dinner and breakfast at their restaurant. Due to heavy rain that day we were completely soaked while doing the sightseeing. The hotel receptionist went above and beyond and allow us to use the dryer to dry our wet clothes.
