This is a great place to stay if you want to experience the old city of Ahmedabad. Lakshman-bhai, the caretaker, was extremely helpful in just about everything and very friendly, especially getting my many bags up a steep staircase and meeting out on the road to make sure I can find the place.

This place is in the old city, so there will be noise around the clock. It is part of the experience though (and seeing the old city compensates for this), so do expect this if you are booking. There are of course quieter parts of the day and evening/night. Expect to pay cash if their credit card machines are not working.

It is a beautiful old house with two rooms, which are both extraordinary. I have never seen anything like it before. The interior is designed with love and is very cozy. The bathroom was good. We felt very welcome by the host, who was very helpful and flexible with every wish we had. Dinner and breakfast was home cooked and also very good. We also did a tour of the old town with the host, which we really enjoyed. This haveli is located nicely in the old town and can easily be reached from the railway station in a short TukTuk trip. We would come back :)

Peaceful location in the heart of Ahmedabad old city. This haveli is very clean, well located with quick access to the main Relief Road and to so many heritage houses and temples within the old city. Two cozy rooms, the upper one with balcony. Excellent service, care and respect for hosts, as well as help aside from the hotel, train tickets as an example. Food is also available at any time, fresh and according to our wishes. I came there again with friends and will come again. This place made our stay in Ahmedabad so pleasant.

Ahmedabad was supposed to just be a stop over, but thanks to Dohia Haveli and Mr. Narayan it became a wonderful destination. The location is perfect to explore the old city, the building is beautiful. Mr Narayan makes THE best Chai Masala and served us an amazing dinner. If you like good Indian food, make sure to eat here. In the morning, he even took us for a tour through the old city and showed us the beautiful temples and 600 year old houses the city has to offer. The room was spacious and clean, we got our first good night of sleep here in India. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Just beware the location on Google maps is incorrect. The location on uber and Maps.me is correct.

Everything about this Haveli is exquisite. It was homely and didn't feel 'touristy'. The home cooked Gujrati food was adapted expertly by Narayan and we couldn't fault his warm welcome and professionalism. We shall certainly be back.

A perfect stay. No negatives. If you like history and authenticity this is the place for you. If you want a chain of hotels you can find anywhere in the world then this place is not for you.

Narayan and the other caretaker were incredibly helpful, keen to help with any queries and accommodated our late arrivals and early departures. The rooms are beautiful, and to have a balcony to sit outside is a delight. Breakfast was very good.

As a heritage property in the old town, it can be a little noisy at night. It can also be hard to find the property, but Narayan is on hand to help with that. The stairs are very steep, so not good for people with mobility issues.

Property is very traditional, opposite of modern, as well is very romantic if you travel with your partner and brings you into the another world, another time. I really recommend to stay here.

Bathroom need to be fixed, shower was spreading water all over and I would recommend better gazer so 2people can enjoy warm water after each other.

We loved that the Haveli is right in the very centre of old town. It’s so beautiful! The building is over 300 years old and has been beautifully restored and cared for by the family and caretakers. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Ahmedabad. Narayan and Mewa were welcoming and would make a wonderful breakfast each morning. They were very gracious and helpful throughout. We had a great experience staying at this vintage heritage Haveli (converted to a Hotel). The caretakers took personal care of our food and stay needs, and provided guidance on what to see and how to get there. The rooms are huge in size, with all amenities. The location is in the heart of the old city.

There is no lift - so jot suitable for aged or people who cannot climb stairs

Really beautiful period building, close to shops and immersed in the beauty of the old town. The caretaker Narayan went above and beyond to make us feel at home, prepared really delicious food for us and suggested local shops for our purchases.
