French Haveli is my favourite place with peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The local manager Bansi and his team always present themselves as helpful. I believe Banis is an asset to the premises. The owner of French Haveli Mr Paterl is extremely helpful everytime when I needed to talk.As it is within the old part of Ahmedabad, you will have a feel of heritage ambience. Ahmedabad is famous for street food as well as restaurant based eating place.

Everything is good. However, at night time, returning to the property, sometimes, we encounter barking of street dogs. So its advisable to get an tuk tuk or uber as close as possible. I know this is nothing to do with the hotel itself. Just an observation for safety.

gorgeous! very well located in a quiet pol, across from a temple with wonderful energy. staff —bansi and deepak—were wonderful and took care of our every need from chai to arranging a car! the owner was also extremely accommodating over the phone. rooms are spacious and mine had a small terrace which was great. very charming property with an authentic feel in the old part of the city.

I felt French Haveli was a great place to get a feel of staying in a Pol (cluster of homes) - very well located at walking distance to popular attractions in the old city. Sensitively renovated and well maintained, the staff are willing to always help. Breakfast was simple great and freshly made which was perfect!

Given it is a very old house that was renovated, the privacy, connection to bathrooms and steep steps is something not all people may like. But it didn't affect us since we knew this is how old houses worked.

As this is a heritage home, steps can be very steep and may cause accessibility issues for some people. Can be difficult to locate at first but fine once you have walked the lane way. Cars and rickshaws can only go so far.

Good place to stay if you want to explore the city centre and a good starting point for any other touristic adventures. Keep in mind that cars cannot reach directly until the hotel so you have to either walk or take a rikshaw from the main road.

Hard to communicate with the staff as the english level was very low, also it was not as clean as I would have whished, a lot of dust everywhere.

Rooms need renovation. I know it's a heritage property, but it can be renovated to add big stairs if not lift. Also, walls need to be repainted. Cars don't reach, so you can't take a taxi but need to take auto or walk. There are not many food options. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, then you have to walk for at least 15 mins to get something, which is not good if you have small kids or old people within your group.

I was the only one who stayed in the hotel I ate alone and felt quite lonely.

This is my second visit to French Haveli. The breakfast was homemade by the in-house team lead by wonderful, helpful and joyful Mr Bansi. The Location is fairly easy although one can get lost for a moment. However, Mr Bansi would give best advice and recommendation on three wheeler vehicle, they can get for you. Please do contact him when you book. The whole stay as well the staff were always helpful. Rikhsa (tuk-tuk) are allowed almost near the place, and The staff are very helpful. It is very quiet once you are in the hotel, the room ambiance, cleanliness and heritage style rooms are beautiful, and just outside the room, there is a large dinning table which is communal and used by all the guests for breakfast/lunch or dinner. Outside on the main road, round the corner, you will find a fresh fruit and vegetable juices of all kinds including mock-tail style mixtures. It is not expensive at all and will keep your energy level high. Nope, not paid to say more on the juice bar, just try yourself.

Beautiful property, quaint and peaceful, right in the middle of the old city. Kind and helpful staff, excellent bathroom facilities, clean bedroom, comfortable bed and complimentary breakfast was delicious.

It is on the expensive side, on par with high star hotels. But then again, anywhere worth staying in Ahmedabad is overpriced. That being said, if I found myself in Ahmedabad again, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else

This is certainly one of the most charming hotels I have ever stayed in. It truly fulfills the fantasy of a 19th century provincial haveli. The staff was attentive (they even helped me do laundry), the room was pleasingly decorated, and the breakfast was filling. I would recommend anyone who is visiting Ahmedabad stay here.

The place claims to accept debit/credit cards but the machine was broken. I had to run out and use an ATM which was quite inconvenient.
