Really beautiful bathroom and most common areas, bar, ping-pong, food. Boisterous staff who were having lots of fun.

Shared bathroom in bar area was filthy and very smelly. Both bed lights on one side of female dorm were faulty. It was also quite cold and when my wet clothes didn't dry after 2 days hanging I was told that borrowing the heater would not dry my clothes (which I think is a scientific impossibility), so had to pack wet clothes. Reception was often unmanned.

Staff is very helpful! Room is cleaned daily and the bed is comfortable. The rooftop is a vibrant place to meet like minded travellers.

Geyser in my room was not working properly but the staff tried to get it fixed. The cafetaria can have more options.

The property has a lovely vibe to it. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The common areas have some brilliant decor. The common area on the terrace has a nice little cafe serving a wide range of snacks, breakfast and lunch options. The TT table, carrom board and football table is an added perk, which makes the experience even better. The people around are also very warm and fun to talk to, and socializing is much easier compared to other hotels you might stay at in Gangtok. 10/10 would recommend to anyone coming to visit Gangtok.

The only drawback could be that MG Road is a 15 minute walk from the hostel, and also, that at the time of our visit, the road outside Zostel was a one-way route from 8am to 7pm, meaning we had to walk for 10 minutes to get to a location from where we could get into our cars.

Situated close to the city centre. Lot of small eateries around, so lack of a functional in-house restaurant was not felt. Had a great time at the cafe, Great vibe with TV and Music.

Some information about Gangtok by way of maps would help. Also the Reception desk wasn't always manned especially during the night. So check in and check out was not smooth.

Good food, good people. Nice rooms. well facilitated. They also helped with getting vehicles & will provide info if needed. Love that. One of our friends was already staying & they put us in the same room. Appreciated.

Few concerns: The beds are too squeaky. For someone who is a light sleeper, the squeaking is too much. Anyone climbing the upper bunk has to wake up the others. Cleanliness in the common area is not so great. Another concern is the window in the common area being open, especially when it's too cold. And pigeons flying around everywhere. Sorry but pigeons residing so freely & constantly flying around right above my food is not ideal at all. Definitely running a high risk of them carrying a lot of germs & especially fear of one of them pooping in my food is too real, not to forget the feathers everywhere.

Location, room quality, cleanness

-Staff at reception is not always available, maybe a contact number might be benificial. -In the Restaurant area people are allowed to smoke, as a non smoker I don't like it but there is a smoke free common area too.

Originally planned to stay in Gangtok for 2-3 days, but ended up staying for over 2 weeks! Left with bonds that will last a lifetime. Incredible vibes and views. A shared cab will take you to the market hub. Entire staff is really sweet.

Zostel staff guided how to reach the place. They were very helpful and supportive. Akash, the property manager is awesome. He has solution to all the problems.

More options should be present in the food menu

The parking space and location on main road, mg marg accessible by shared taxi. Host is very helpful in arranging and guiding anything around Gangtok

The private rooms are small, even the king size deluxe rooms have queen size bed. Provided the space in the rooms, the cost is on a higher side compared to other available options in Gangtok.
