Lovely heritage property. You stay in a heritage Chettiar mansion with good amenities. Great room and bathroom size The staff are very sweet and go out of their way to remember your preferences and serve you well. Excellent food esp non veg, at lunch and dinner. Would recommend also having some light dinner options, as after the excellent elai lunch, it's difficult to consume an elaborate dinner buffet. If you enjoy non veg food esp south indian,you are in for a treat. The property tour along with the Chettiar history talk by the manager Mr Senthil and the morning tour of the village by the staff is excellent. You get a great perspective of the region and their wonderful history.

Nothing to dislike. Few suggestions to the team- For a luxury category hotel, please upgrade the mattress and pillows to what other star hotels offer. Labelling the switches will be welcome as it takes many trials to hit the right ones! Upgrade to the shower and hand shower in the tub will be a welcome add in the next renovation.

Fabulous hotel wonderful staff, I don't know why it's only rated as 3 stars on your website it should be 5. Truly a memorable stay spacious comfortable room well equipped even had a bath with bubble bath provided. Staff are very attentive for example, they noted we hadn't gone to dinner on our second night, so they checked we didn't want anything before they closed the kitchen. The pool area was lovely even more do as we were thd only ones using it. Food and service are great. We loved the veranda outside our room overlooking the pool and happily sat there soaking up thd warmth. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Phenomenal stay in chidambara vilas. The hospitality was so warm, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant staff took such special care of my daughter's order. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The people and history of this place were just amazing. The banana leaf lunch was the best we had in our India trip!

If i could nitpick, some dishes were a bit less seasoned (like the white stew at dinner).

The property has been beautifully restored and bright bang up to date with modern facilities but still retaining the original charm of the Chettinad mansion. The non veg food was exceptional. The GM Senthil was extremely knowledgeable, amiable and friendly. He made it point to connect with the guests personally and helped plan the itinerary in Chettinad. Priya brought in southern hospitality effortlessly and helped with all local transport with a big, warm smile. All the staff were overall very courteous and polite. A great way to step into the luxurious past of the Chettiyars. Perfect for a when’s stay.

A privilege to stay in a Chettiar mansion. It was a beautiful mansion, rich with Chettinad culture. Every single staff member, right from the receptionist, housekeeping team, restaurant team and the security guard were so helpful and humbled. A lot of activities are arranged at the property, hence we don't have to go out. The property manager, Ms Priya is well versed in the Chettinad culture and explained so well during the mansion tour. It is also amazing to see the peacocks roaming freely and occupying the old mansions.

It's a beautifully maintained heritage property with exquisite interiors. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. Priya at the reception was extremely helpful. The tour of the villa that was conducted by the manager was very nice and brought the history and lifestyle of the bygone era alive. The cooking class was also a good gesture. All in all I enjoyed my stay.

There was no fridge in the room. Also very few sockets for charging were there and the available ones could not be used without an adaptor.

The hotel is very special, into an old and totally renovated Chettinadu palace, the atmosphere is great, it was nice to stay two nights to enjoy the place. The food is fine and the staff is very helpful. I would suggest to make the Chettinadu tour from the hotel and the palce tour, both very interesting.

The breakfast in the small courtyard area is a bit crowdy

Excellent, clean, well maintained property, very friendly and helpful staff. The rich legacy of the palace was explained to us in great detail along with a detailed tour of the various sections of the palace. Rooms have a royal feel to them with lot of wood work. Great local cuisine . Highly recommended for families.

Truly one of the best accommodations I’ve ever stayed at! The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The food here is one of the best food I’ve ever had - from breakfast to dinner, Chidambara Vilas is the place you should stay to experience the Chettinad hospitality.

Very helpful and accommodating staff and people. Very sumptuous and varied cuisines for all 3 meals. The willingness of one and all the staff and management to accommodate one’s requirement as far as possible is commendable. The local staff lent authenticity to the service and CSR of the property. Overall an excellent stay.

Being a hotelier one noticed a few minor improvement that could be made and did suggest the same and are being looked into and implemented in due course.
