I booked a single person room and was just as advertised in the pics. Good for 1 to max 2 ppl. Room was clean and smelling good as i entered. A/C, fan and TV with local channels were working. Remember: This is a BUDGET hotel. So the rooms will be smaller but good enough if you have reasonable expectations. Though i arrived early the staff was cooperative and gave me the room as soon as it was available and cleaned it just before it was given to me. But the checkout time will be adjusted to the time you checkin. Bathroom was clean. Towels and sheets were clean but I preferred to use my personal towels as a habit. Prime and BUSY location. My advice is to reach there before 10 am or after 9pm to avoid getting stuck behind vehicles and unable to get your luggage from the trunk. Trust me, the traffic will get chaotic in few seconds at any time. There is a ramp on the left to the staircase which will lead to the elevator for your luggage. Neighbors can be heard but that is expected in budge hotel rooms next to each other. Hot water was not hot but just lukewarm which didn't bother me considering i went to one of the hottest cities in tamilnadu at the peak summer time. Very close to Meenakshi amman temple and all sorts of shops/restaurant and ATMs. Online booking and checkin went smooth. If you want your room to be cleaned, handover the key at the reception and let them know. When i came back after 3 hrs the room and bathroom were cleaned and sheets were changed with new toiletries. Read the house rules and instructions pasted on the wall inside your room. Iron box was available on request and food delivery with Zomato was easy . In short - my limited expectations were met, the staff were courteous and the stay was pretty decent. Will return for sure.

Room finishing and interior could definitely use an upgrade.

Although it's obviously a budget option they've not cut corners - I got soap, bottled water, toilet paper, towel, toothbrush/paste. Well organised. Great location between temple and train station Quiet.

Building work during day (but quiet in evening and night)

There's a lot I liked about Mani's residency. Its location is unbeatable, a short walking distance to the great Meenakshi temple, which was the main reason I went to Madurai. It's in a busy location, close to restaurants, shops, etc., but the hotel is quiet, calm and safe. The staff were friendly and helpful, and quick to fix minor glitches like getting an English channel on the TV, extra toilet paper, etc. Everything I expected was provided for---cold air conditioning, hot showers, soap, shampoo, filtered water, etc. The staff helped me to get an Uber taxi to the airport, and carried my bags down. I recommend this hotel without reservation.

We stayed in this hotel 2 nights in room 203 (second floor). The room was quiet, clean and had all facilities required, such as great internet, plugs and A/C. It was comfortable and well located, around the corner from the incredible restaurant New Sri Sabareesh where we ate 3 times/day. Without being in your face, the hotel staff was helpful and made sure we had a pleasant stay.

Comfy bed, fan and aircon, good bathroom, property had a lift, front desk had night duty. Laundry service available. Staff were very helpful with things I needed. For one person the room was an adequate size and had everything I needed. Provided with internet codes without asking and worked very well.

Having to source breakfast outside. One can hear adjoining guests on their phones (and although this was not the fault of the hotel) I had to dress and get the night duty manager as I was woken at 04:30 by the guest next door using their tv. This was satisfactorily resolved.

We arrived at 1am from the train station and the staff were expecting us and showed us straight to the room - this was very much appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the aircon and fan worked fine. Water was left in the room each day. The shower was good (maybe a new shower head would be a good idea) and the Wifi worked well. The renovation is relatively recent so the fittings are new and clean. The room was quiet as we were towards the back of the building and we heard no street noise despite the hotel being right in the centre next to the bus and train stations. Great value for money.

A typical Indian middle-class hotel surrounded by lots of shops and food stalls, ten minutes from the Temple. Ample room and bath. Good a/c. Elevator to the street.

A very busy street ( though our room was sequestered from the noise). Internet was intermittent. I walked down to the front desk only to find the xerox of my passport laying on the counter for anyone to copy (or pilfer). No one seemed to care when I said something about it.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city. The Railway station, Bus Station, Meenakshi Sundareshan temple complex etc are in close proximity. Many restaurants and tea shops are in close proximity. The rooms are well maintained.

Although the hot water kettle is provided in the room, the materials required to prepare tea or coffee were absent. The water taps in the bathroom look old and corroded.

Room was very clean and bed super comfy. They did laundry within hours! The staff are very friendly and helpful, providing us with suggestions where to eat and assisting us with finding the bus for our onward journey. The hotel is located within 10 mins of the main temple and in the heartbeat of the old city. The other temples and attractions are within 15 mins distance. Highly recommended

Very clean and pleasant room, good hot water in the bathroom, comfortable bed, new and updated, the staff was very helpful and nice, for instance, the air conditioner didn't work at first in my room so they gave me a different room with free upgrade

the only downside was that the walls were a little thin so there was some noise at times depending on the other guests
