The Prakash Kutir B&B is located in a good area in Delhi, making it a good choice for first time India visitors. The room is big and clean and you will be provided with all the necessary elements (towel, soap, hairdryer etc.). What I also really liked is the file in the room, in which the hosts give you some itinerarys for exploring Delhi. The family who is hosting you, is very helpful and you can ask them anything. Another major plus point is the breakfast. It is not just the delicious food itself. All the guests are sitting together at one table and are having breakfast together, which gives you a kind of family atmosphere.

Just some minor aspects, one should consider in advance. It is an old building, so dont expect perfect european standards. For example the heated water will not last forever while taking a shower or the heater is not powerful enough to heaten the whole room.

This place is decorated in classic Rajasthani decor. Very beautiful! It’s great that the hosts live on the main floor. They were very helpful!! Also it was nice that each floor had a kitchen. I had breakfasts and a couple of dinners with the hosts and the food was plentiful and delicious. I have celiac disease and they were very knowledgeable and accommodating. The location was also very central and safe. This was very important to me as a solo female traveler.

My room had a small window and was quite dark. I saw there were other rooms that were brighter so that would be good to ensure. Plus the bed was hard but they were kind enough to give me another small mattress.

The staff is super friendly, especially the B&B owner was always there to guide and help with anything possible. The breakfast was great on all the days. The owner's mother takes care of the food, it can also be an experience for the Foreigners to try Indian home-cooked breakfast. They have some really good activities to be a part of, like going to Agra for a day, Delhi Tour, etc. Maybe next time I go I can try that out as well. The room was clean, the bathrooms were clean, they had all the appliances for people to use and a fully set kitchen; although the kitchen on the first floor was not as clean as I expected and could see moulds and stuff in the microwave when I tried to use it.. but maybe that is because the guests don't use it that often. Other than that everything was great! Had a nice experience staying there!

Beforehand I was already happy to be able to store my luggage as I arrived earlier then checkin time. However, when I arrived the room was ready within minutes so I could refresh after a long flight. The hostess advised my on some banks and in the room there was a binder with a lot of tips of things to do in Delhi. Furthermore, besides that the breakfast was delicious, you all sit together on a table and it felt i was chatting along with friends/family.

It took me a day to figure out the warm water in the shower but that is the only small issue.

Great location to explore Hauz Khas, which was a safe and quiet area, the hotel was a short rickshaw ride away from restaurants and cafes. A longer ride to main Delhi attractions, but still cheap! The room was OK, we had everything we needed (hot shower, fan, heater, extra blankets/pillows). The bed was comfy. Staff were helpful and friendly. We did not use the shared kitchen but it’s a great option to have. Water filter downstairs was much appreciated. Upon checking out we could securely store our bags which was ideal. Would definitely recommend!

Breakfast was really nice and excellent veg cooking from the mother. She amazed me with the flavours of her culinary 'inventions'. I loved to stay up there on the balcony outside my room and have a kingfisher beer, you could so cheaply buy there. Furthermore, I enjoyed having conversations with fellow travelers at the breakfast or lunch table. My host Sagar was ever so present and always happy to answer whatever questions I might have.

Considering other experiences I had on my trip throughout India, it would be very difficult to find a downside to my stay at Prakash Kutir.

Very clean, spacious room with comfortable beds. Aircon, fan and toilet facilities were well maintained, and shower had hot water. Filtered water system was available so we could easily refill drinking water. Property was located in a quiet area so we were not disturbed by surrounding noise outside. We felt very safe at all times. Really enjoyed the walking tour of Old Delhi, got to sample different types of street food and it was a great experience exploring the area by foot. Dinner cooked by the host was really good - we are not vegetarian but still liked all the curry/veg dishes! We had to leave the property in the very early hours of the morning on 2 occasions and both times the host was very prompt to unlock the gate for us, thank you for the hospitality!

Breakfast was amazing with home cooked Indian Fayre with lots of different touches like home made tamarind sauce. We also had a meal one night which again was home cooked and delicious. You all eat at one table along with members of the family. It was what I call a proper Homestay of the highest quality. Sagar was a wealth of knowledge and very accommodating able to organise any tour you wanted. Unfortunately we were too tired from our journey to take advantage. Also well located to use the metro to get to attractions and the airport or train station.

Everything was good

Great location not too far from main Delhi but more quiet and felt safe to walk around. Delicious breakfast and a nice garden. We especially appreciated the good communication with the property prior to our arrival since it was our first accomodation in India. They helped us know what scams to look out for from the airport taxis and offered to arrange tours for us at a competitive price.

Compared to western beds they were a little hard and we only had two singles as a couple which were a bit short for tall people - but that’s okay!

Everything you would want from a homestay, the family were were very helpful with introducing us to India. All the guests sat and ate the freshly cooked breakfast together which was great for exchanging eperiences. Communication before and during the trip was excellent. Drivers were supplied for the airport runs. Sagar took us for a tour of Old Delhi. Purified water was available from the kitchen, on each floor. The area was quiet but close to amenities and Tuk tuks.

Nothing
