I had a wonderful stay at Mercure Padang — comfortable rooms and friendly staff. What really impressed me, though, was their professionalism and willingness to help even after I had checked out. Four days after leaving the hotel, I realized I had forgotten something in my room. I contacted the hotel, and the staff not only located my item quickly but also arranged to send it to my next hotel. The process was smooth, fast, and handled with genuine care. This level of service goes far beyond expectations and shows real commitment to guest satisfaction. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend Mercure Padang to anyone visiting the area.

I had a comfortable stay at Mercure Padang. The room was well-appointed — the bed was supportive, with ample tabletop space and plenty of charging points, which I appreciated. Even the bathroom was up to standard, with good water pressure in the shower. The breakfast buffet had an adequate and satisfying spread with both local and continental options. The hotel is also conveniently located near a minimart and Pusat Oleh-Oleh Umi, both within walking distance — great for last-minute souvenirs.

However, a note for solo female travellers: walking to the beachfront requires passing through a residential neighborhood where I experienced a few instances of catcalling — despite being dressed modestly in long, loose pants and long sleeves. It didn’t escalate, but it made me feel uncomfortable and a bit unsafe. I'd suggest the hotel consider advising guests on the safest walking route or offer shuttle options in the future. All in all, a good hotel with strong amenities and helpful staff — just be mindful of your route if walking out alone.

From the moment we saw the establishment, it was already such a beautiful sight. Upon entering, we were greeted with smiles and grace. Check-in process was such a breeze, and once we got into the room, it was more than we expected. It was big! Bathroom was great and I simply love the design of the room that's so spacious. We even had ample space after putting an extra bed in the room. Breakfast was good with lots of selections. Pool was great too. Location wise, it was so easy to reach the beachfront and the PADANG signage, just a mere 3-5 minutes walk away. Really a pleasant stay!

The breakfast was indeed excellent, so many things, one of my best ever. Super!

One morning there was no hot water, just a little bit warm, not enough for a proper shower. I told the guy at the reception and he didn't even reply. Well, was it too difficult to at least say I'm sorry? Service at restaurant was good, but slow.

We stayed here a second time after a holiday in the Telos. I had been a little harsh on my first review as I was probably expecting more from the Mercure and it fell a bit short. They were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We had a complementary fruit platter in the room as well as the ability to have a breakfast to take with us on our early flight.

The aircon could be a little noisy, but worked well.

Excellent place to stay for a stopover for our family (3 kids aged 8 to 11) - we also stayed at Santika, but foud this be better value at half the price and comparable service and class. Santika may have a better / a la carte restaurant. For us however, the Mercure buffet was more efficient

Great place for overnight stay while returning from Mentawai Islands. Lovely staff. Beautiful swimming pool. Good location down the road from the sea.

Swimming pool possibly opening a bit earlier, but guess this migh disturb guests which would not have been so good.

Location, view, cleanliness, room service

Reception couldn't make the credit card scan work and told me my card was the problem. Nobody else had a problem and when I checked out and paid room service there was no problem. Needs some training.

Great location by the beach, gated with security kind staff and a clean luxurious hotel. We enjoyed the pool area in the center of the property to relax and cool off. The breakfast buffet was a highlight.

There are a lot of smokers and the pool area is open for smoking.

Good breakfast spread, courteous staffs Irwan, Caca very polite & helpful. Excellent service to have free water dispenser on floors.
