I think it used to be a resort before but it felt more like a homestay. They just have construction going on and building nice, new little villas. They also got hammocks in front of every little villa for relaxing, reading a book, having a beer or cocktail ☺️ The owner are super nice and call you by name - what feels familiar & welcoming.

Unfortunately the owners live close by and there’s always movement & chattering. Unfortunately, the wifi didn’t work properly - if you don’t have a Indonesian SIM card, you’re fu***d. Also the TV didn’t work proper (traveling alone needs sometimes some TV). But: I WOULD STAY AGAIN😀

Really loved this place, great friendly staff that are so helpful with bike hire, things to do, etc. Even had our laundry done here and it turned out good. Great pool space for all the guests, chill vibes, yoga in the morning, free coffee/tea, the restaurant on site is so cheap and so good as well. Would come back.

We stayed in the Brown House and the bathroom was very open to the elements and due to this we had a few insects come in, but nothing too major and I really wouldn’t let this put you off.

I liked everything! The location is ideal for those demanding elbow room and a peaceful setting which is hard to come by in the built up areas where most accommodation is located. It is also well away from that dreadfully noisy main road. It is still just 5 minutes walk down to a black sand beach down a narrow alleyway. They offer a hitch on a bike to Sengiggi for free. It's about 3km away. The property covers thousands of square meters with grass and trees. Chickens wander the park and there are 4 small sleepy dogs. The pool is delightful as is the dining area overlooking it. I had a cheap room but it was still spacious and bright with an open bathroom and air-conditioning. I booked 3 nights and stayed a week.

A small table or bench inside would have been the cherry on the cake for me.

The rooms were lovely and the restaurant served tasty food for good prices, the owners and staff are so kind and generous, we enjoyed our time here so much, definitely won't forget the people we met. Chendra and Mar'ie were great hosts and are the heart and soul of the place, and the dogs are the best, they have a puppy too 🥺 rooms were spacious and clean and the hammock is a great touch. Bike rental is easy and they recommend where to visit and can help book transport around the island. Thanks for a wonderful stay 🤍

The staff were fantastic - Chandra was super welcoming, friendly and really went over the top helping us with anything we needed. They also provided a lot of services (such as snorkelling, surfing, laundry) and were able to organise everything for us (including transport, tickets etc.) for a really cheap price and last minute which made everything really easy for us. The included breakfast was also great and lots of options. Chandra was also good at keeping in contact with us and always mentioned to keep in touch if we needed anything like a lift back to the hotel.

We stayed in the green houses which we probably wouldn’t recommend. The rooms and bathrooms in the green houses were not very clean and some of our towels and pillowcases were also stained. It was enough for us but if you’re expecting a more luxury stay, we would recommend spending the extra money and staying at the huts around the pool.

The staff were very accommodating, they made a lovely breakfast, helped to arrange transportation, provided a scooter, and gave good information when needed. They also provide laundry services at a great price, free water refill and free morning coffee. The pool was nice to have a small swim in and the restaurant menu had good items to choose from with reasonable prices. The area was quiet, away from the main road, with only a 200m walk to the main road / a nearby shop to buy snacks.

The log cabin I stayed in really needs to be thoroughly cleaned. I had to ask the management to clean it, because I found the shower drain to be fully clogged, the curtains and mosquito net to be very dirty, and there are spider webs everywhere. It just gives you an uneasy feeling sleeping there because it hasn't had a deep cleaning in a long time and there is evidence of that everywhere. Greater care for the cabins (the one I stayed in is all I can speak about) is highly recommended.

I loved the people and the homey feeling!! They were so nice, they even offered to bring me to an atm instead of walking for 30 min. De room was so nice and perfect after Rinjani! I read that there were people complaining about bugs. And yes i saw a salamander or an ant in my room. But it is Indonesia so that is normal and expected! The room was clean and I enjoyed it!

All the complementary things that you can get from the same place, the fact that they rent motorcycles for a very cheap price, the restaurant, the swimming pool, and the very lovely family that run the place. Also the dogs special Ina 😍 the best puppy in the world.

The cleaning needs to be improved, hoover the bedroom under the beds, and corners inside the toilet, use cleaning products to sanitize the toilet and sink is very important to prevent infections and bad odours.

The folks at Makarma were so nice, helping us with transport, laundry, and scooter rental. We stayed in the Wooden House for two nights, which was ok, and then returned and stayed in the poolside bungalows, which was awesome!

The wooden house rooms weren't our favorite. There were lots of gaps in the floor and ceiling, which would be ok for a basic bungalow, except the mosquito net that didn't actually cover the bed. We also would have wished the bathroom was cleaned a bit more, even though it was outside. Overall, I would recommend staying in the poolside rooms if possible, because that room was great!

Very nice olace to stay, close the beach yet you feel like you're in the jungle. Google maps shows you a longer route by car, but on foot it's like 500m to the beach. Friendly and helpful staf.

It was a bit noisy since they're still in construction in one part so there are a lot of people walking around, some construction noise. But it's only during the day time so didn't really bother me.
