The location was great. We wanted to be able to see the ocean but not right on the beach to avoid noise and crowds, so our ocean view room with a balcony on the 8th floor was excellent. The complimentary bottles of water were given out generously. The restaurant serves good breakfast and dinner. If one wants a cheaper choice for breakfast, there are strip malls with many convenient stores nearby. We loved the Donut King, where the people were friendly, frequently giving us free donuts, and their freshly squeezed orange juice was the best. From the hotel, it is safe and pleasant to walk to the beach, to restaurants on Ocean Avenue. It's also convenient to Uber to downtown Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. They helped us to settle in and resolved minor issues for us. The room didn't have enough lights, but it didn't matter after we got used to it. With two queen size beds, the room was too small to have chairs put in, so we sat in the chairs on the balcony. The sheets were changed every day and the house-keeping ladies were very nice. The fuse blew out in the middle of one night when a hair-dryer and tea-pot were put on at the same time, but the maintenance person came quickly to reset it. We loved our stay!

Two queen bed rooms should be a bit bigger to have some chairs next to the table.

The staff on check-in were fantastic. They took time to find us two beautiful rooms with interconnecting doors as we were traveling as a family. A big thank you to Tracy and MissAnne for their friendly welcome and checking in experience which set the tone for the rest of the stay.

The bikes were not good!! We hired 4 bikes, cycled to the marina and then had a flat tyre and had to walk one bike back (a 1hr 15 min walk).

Clean and very convenient location to Santa Monica Pier

Would prefer a vending machine and/or more food options. Also would like a coffee machine in the room. Challenging to get coffee downstairs, very busy and hard to bring back up to the room.

Hotel Staff was Exceptional!!! DARIUS at the Front Desk was UNMATCHED in customer care. His expert advice and details made the stay exceptional alone and builds great credibility in making Le Meridian a "world-class" Marriott facility. Also, HUGO, Concierge is likewise a true professional, excellent customer care. He remembered me from my first stay, 1 year ago. All in person dining Staff were exceptional and beyond compare. As a Retired Sr. Military Officer, 30 years, who has stayed worldwide, the experience was exceptional and heading in the right trajectory. It is on my radar to return.

Only ONE elevator the entire week we stayed. This should have been a priority. Costly Valet parking. Is there a discount or rewards for returning guest?

It is an excellent location - walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The heated pool and gym were great. The complementary cruiser bikes and yoga on the beach was such a nice perk!

Honestly can't say much about what can be improved...staff were friendly, rooms and facilities were clean. Everything was great.

Staff was amazing, service and kindness makes you want to stay more and come back, though there was no buffet the American breakfast with all the choices available was amazing! Bedroom always comfortable, clear, clean and nice, location was very good.

Swimming pool was nos as big as I expected, but still very nice, no room service, but bar and restaurant open until 10:00 PM, food was good, limited options, but all of them very tasty. I thought there was a spa, but it’s really third party services to go outside. Not in the hotel. The hotel was not as close to the beach as I expected. The price of the stay should be lower considering all those limitations. But besides those minor things I loved the stay. A place I would not regret to come back many times.

Super convenient location close to the beach, pier, shopping, public transit. My room was inviting, comfortable and clean. The bed was AMAZING! The complementary glass of champagne was just lovely! All the staff were friendly and super helpful. I should have retained more names! Ana who checked me in made a wonderful first impression for the hotel.

The bathroom was roomy and well-appointed. I requested a robe and a coffee machine and both were delivered quickly. We were able to find street parking and avoid the $57 daily charge. The hotel was close to Walgreens for items we forgot to pack. The heated pool was a big hit with the teens in our family and the fact that it was open until 10:00 p.m.

There was no microwave, so coffee couldn't be reheated, nor could leftovers that we stored in the refrigerator. I left a note for the housekeeper asking for additional coffee supplies, and she left coffee, but not additional half and half or sugar., despite the fact that I left a $20 tip for each day I stayed. I had to go down to the bar, where they were very nice about pouring some half-and-half into a cup for me. The construction across the street woke us up on the first day, but fortunately were not active for the remaining 3 days of the holiday.

The hotel is well located for the beach and local amenities. Easy to get to LA. The staff were very helpful - especially Hugo (concierge) for providing good advice on how best to see LA and introduced a pick up/drop off tour - this far exceeded expectations.

Despite being a non-smoking hotel, the room reeked of old tobacco and this was very unpleasant.
