The staff was exceptional. The owner explained the bus routes to us twice and provided us with maps and bus schedules, which was very helpful in a town with a very confusing public transportation system. The room was clean, spacious (especially the bathroom!), and very comfortable. Breakfast was good, very typical of what you normally get at an Italian hotel. On the day we checked out, he allowed us to leave our bags inside the hotel so that we could continue to enjoy the town without lugging around our luggage. Because of this, we reclaimed a day of our vacation! Overall, the only thing that may be negative about this hotel is that it's in an alley, but the location is absolutely perfect otherwise, due to its proximity to the train station, bus stops, and restaurants. This hotel was the best value for the price that I've ever stayed in, and I'd recommend anyone who wants to visit Agrigento stay here.

This is a back alley hotel. Pretty easy to come to, for the money I really can not complain. Location is good, hotel is clean, I did not try breakfast but went outside (plenty of options). Main streets of the city are walking distance. Temple valley is also not very far (for a car). Location is also quiet (not on the main street). Seemed like a safe neighbourhood.

Little bit rundown (but clean), no view, we were lucky with parking (as it is back alley). Long time for a warm water to start running, also our flushing tank needed a lot to fill. But I consider these to be minor inconveniences.

This is a basic hotel which got the basics right, unlike some 4 star hotels we stayed at. There was good storage space with plenty of hangers and lots of drawers so we were able to store all our clothes and items without living out of our suitcase. Simple things like sockets at waist level so easy to access, large mirror in bedroom, superb central light so we could read, comfortable warm bed and a bonus, we could access an English speaking TV news channel. The receptionist gave us a detailed map of the town and also the Greek temple site, a printed bus timetable and lots of useful information. The hotel was very clean, and looked newly decorated. Our room was big and also very clean. Breakfast was a good cold buffet and staff were very friendly and helpful. It is also well situated, within easy walking distance of railway station and centre of town and also is just behind a beautiful tree lined boulevard overlooking the valley below. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel and really enjoyed our stay here.

The bathroom was quite small but adequate. Also, the walls are quite thin and noise from adjoining rooms can occasionally be heard but we didn't find this an issue when we stayed there.

The location is excellent, the hotel is few minutes from the train station, the service excellent, thank you to the owner and personnel for their kindness and help, the price was very good. I loved the breakfast, which was sweet and salty, with a big variety.

There is nothing I didn’t like

Great value Hotel in good location for walking down to the valley of the temples, or the other direction, heading up to the old town and restaurants. Don’t be put off by the entrance being in the back alley. The reception was fine and the staff really lovely and helpful. Room was fine, clean and perfectly functional. The breakfast was fantastic, better than the other more posher hotels that we stayed in. Would recommend, certainly for a one nighter.

Bathroom just needs a bit updating but perfectly clean.

It was conveniently located to attractions and public transportation. It was simple but very clean and the rooms cleaned daily. The staff were wonderful. Extremely friendly and helpful.

The rooms were great and the position was ideal near the station and bus stop to the valley of the temples. Francesco the owner was very friendly and helpful. A real gentleman.

Two large rooms with 2 large bathrooms, close to the city center. Parking was free. Friendly staff. Late check-in is possible. Breakfast was correct and included in the price.

Small shower cabins.

If you need a room with a view - don't book Hotel Del Viale. It is situated on a street which is but a narrow service lane between high rising residential buildings. If you really need a very spacious, clean and quiet room in the heart of Agrigento, a five minutes drive off the Valley of the Temples, situated just a block off the lively old town and a twenty minutes walk from the Piazza del Duomo, and a free parking a few steps from your Hotel, the Del Viale is just perfect for you. It is not just reasonably priced for its relative luxury, it is cheap, and you get a better-than-Barista-quality Italian breakfast by just adding 3,50 € per person. Literally just around the corner, by the way: Ecco - a splendid view over the sea!

Flaws: almost none - just the usual 190 of 200 channels on TV not properly working (it's all in Italian, anyway), a broken shower head (very friendly and prompt reaction to our notification) ... For the price, it's sheer perfection.

Would definitely recommend staying here! We arrived early and the hotel owner checked us in early as our room was ready. Hotel is in excellent location - very close to the station. Staff and owner were very friendly, accomodating, and very helpful. They also helped us with taxis and some Italian and were patient in translating Italian to English. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
