The view from the balcony is incredible, the hotel is located right at the beach. The room was spacious, clean and functional. The hotel is not new, the rooms are fuctional, but everything neede was there and altogether it is a great choice.

While the location next to the beach is great, the hotel itself is difficult to reach by public transport (no problem by car). It is easy to get to the train station in Amantea, but walking from there to the hotel takes 1 to 2 hours, mostly on open streets with no sidewalk available. Buses are very infrequent and not reliable and taxis are difficult to get. On the way back the hotel helped with a lift, which however is quite expensive (20 Euro). There are also no supermarkets close to the hotel, so without a car, a bit of walking is always required as the hotel is located in between bigger cities.

I booked on booking.com. when i arrived a small elderly man told me they had no rooms, and more or less told me to be on my way. i tried to explain i had already booked but was’t really interested or helpful. got dealing with a manager lady then and when asked for payment i told her i had already paid on the app, she never bothered to check the computer or anything and insisted on me paying again. i had little choice and had to do so, i did however get the money back after i complained via email. But the fact they never checked and were a little rude with this wasn’t particularly nice, professional or pleasant.

Okay, so we are already talking about the vicinity of a smaller town (Amantea), so you can expect that this place is even more silent. No bars/coffees around, restaurant option is bound to the hotel, but it's not an issue as they're open until quite late with the kitchen and food is great! Laura and her colleagues are super friendly and welcoming, the whole staff was trying to make our stay as comfy as possible. Late notice and special request for breakfast? No problem. Finding a table for lunch on an otherwise crowded Sunday when a lot of local people just come for the food and the beach? No problem! All in all Hotel Mareblu is a really good value for money, their beach is clean and private, the food is tasty and fresh and it is 5-10 mins by car from the closest towns up North or down South.

The AC is was much needed in the middle of the summer and it works like a charm. But as it's an older unit: don't forget to bring your earplugs if you're planing to keep it running throughout the night. :)

The staff were super helpful and friendly. The location is perfect. A family hotel with lots of charm. Their restaurant serves good food.

No breakfast

Good location for the beach. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom small but everything was very clean. The breakfast was adequate, the restaurant food lacking and overpriced.

Other than the young lady on the front desk and the lady cleaning the rooms, the staff were not very welcoming. We speak little to no Italian and apologise for this… but we did not feel welcome in this hotel.
