Amazing location up in the hills above Salerno, around a 45-minute drive the next day to the airport. Felt like stepping back in time - but in a good way. Beautiful old building, carefully preserved and appropriately updated. We'd treated ourselves to a suite - the room was large, well-furnished and comfortable with a large terrace area which had a hot tub on it (which we didn't use). Pool area was great, swimming with swifts dipping in around you may not be for everyone but we enjoyed it! Best bit of all though - the staff. Unfailingly lovely and helpful. Special shout out to Gabriel from Patagonia. Great to see them seem to really enjoy working there, just makes for a lovely atmosphere. We walked around town after dinner to soak it up a bit, well worth taking the time to lose yourself in the little alleyways.

The food was OK. Breakfast the best of the bunch - especially if you like pasties. Lunch menu was quite basic but well cooked (we ignored the burgers had the grilled fish and the beef strips). Dinner menu was simple, local, rustic food - I guess we were just a bit surprised to see the pork belly come out with gravy on a bed of mashed potato a bit like the school dinners I used to have back in the day! So kind of no-frills, maybe not what you'd expect from a place this but the prices were also sensible so I guess that reflects that a bit.

Location was very beautiful and the area around the hotel was gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and a very good food selection at the breakfast. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

The only thing that I didn’t like is the outside noise because of the community party that lasted till the very very late night. But I think this is very typical for Italy and we, North Americans, aren’t really used to it. I don’t think as well that this is something typical for this hotel and maybe we were “lucky” to stay the night when the party was taking place :)

Amazing hotel, quirky, different, lots of character. Lots of thought into every detail. Views spectacular! Staff couldn't do more to help and very friendly. If you want something to switch off and relax this is the perfect spot. Loved hikes and trail runs in the forest nearby. Abbey beside is spectacular.

Not many restaurants to choose from in the village. But hotel food was lovely! We didn't have a car but didn't mind the walk down to Cava de Tirreni and bus back up. Bring mosquito repellent.

Very attractive and well decorated hotel in a beautiful setting in the hills above Cavi Di Terreni / Salerno. We had a suite, which was very large, very nicely decorated and super-comfortable. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent dinner there.

The hotel is not that easy to find - satnav seems to struggle with its exact location - and the entrance gateway into the parking area is very narrow, obviously dating back to the days before cars and explains why the majority of cars in these smaller, older Italian towns all seem to have multiple scrapes and scratches on their paintwork! Well worth the effort once you get there, however.

The hotel was great - good value for money and a beautiful peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of the coast.

The waiting staff in the restaurant were great, but the reception staff made us feel like a real inconvenience. No offer of help with luggage, asked them to book a taxi which they did, but we had to chase and the confirmation never came, so we just had to hope for the best. There was no offer of showing us to our room, and we ended up in a conference room as the floors were not logically laid out. English was not forthcoming and more than once were we spoken about in Italian… shame, as it could have been very different with a smile and a can do attitude.

Beautiful location . Fantastic panoramic views of the mountains . Charming old village location . Staff all impeccable . Food very good . Comfortable , traditional rooms . Good sir con.

Hard to criticise anything about this hotel . If you choose to stay here( which we did, and had a wonderful stay ) then you will need independent transport and be prepared to climb the steep narrow streets to get about . But for us that was part of the beauty and the charm

We absolutley loved our stay here! The views were amazing, the restaurant was simply stunning and the staff (particularly francesco) were so lovely. He even dropped us to salerno to make our onward journey. I also reccomend going to the jazz sandwich shop right outside the hotel if you fancy getting out. Delicious sandwiches and the shop owner is great too. Overall a great spot and would love to come back.

They took a little while to put the beds out by the pool so was slightly annoying we couldnt lie down and relax in the morning. It sometimes felt a bit like a ghost town just because the hotel is so big and the space is underused.

Quiet place, comfortable, a lot of possibilities to take time for yourself, to read, sleep at the swimming pool in a very nice place and view. A very good staff too

- Bedroom not the one we chose online (superior with balcony )they proposed a room with a terrace to share with 2 other rooms. After discussion another solution was proposed. - last day, the restaurant and another terrace were privatised for 2 events with music, games, ...all bedrooms have to support the noise untill ...am. as reminder we chose this place for the silence and tranquility. Nobody in the hotel was aware about it, no communications.

An impressive beautiful hotel with a history of being owned by one family since 1821. The staff were polite, and the room was comfortable with vintage furniture. There are two parking lots, but be aware that the one right next to the hotel is small and paid. To drive right up to the hotel, be prepared to go through a narrow entrance. The grounds are very beautiful and well-kept, and the terrace offers a view of the mountains. We didn't use the pool, the weather was already cool.
