The location of 'A Regina b&b Cetara is excellent. It sits above the single main street, which means from the apartment balcony the visitor can enjoy the view of this self contained, small fishing village, going about its business. The owners were delightful and, throughout our ten day stay, continually went out of their way to make us feel at home. Any questions or requests were dealt with immediately and always with great humour. Breakfast was arranged at a very friendly cafe, a short walk from the B&B. The ritual of having breakfast whilst overlooking the harbour became the opening highlight of each day. Cetara is unspoilt, with a community who fully engage with visitors. A visitor can either enjoy any of the superb restaurants, or delight in buying fresh products at the many specialist shops. Cetara is also well placed from which to use the buses or boats to visit other locations along the Amalfi coast.

Gino and Kira are exceptional hosts! We made our booking on the day of arrival and they responded quickly and took care of all our concerns. When we arrived they'd left a bunch of cherries and melon for us in the fridge along with some ice cold drinking water which we really appreciated due to the heat. (The refrigerator is shared between the three rooms in a common kitchen area, with each shelf labeled with the name of the room. In this area there is also a coffee machine and capsules to use. There was also a cooking area, and clothes washing machine. I'm not sure if these were available for guests to use - we didn't ask as we were only staying one night.) The room isn't large but is very well laid out to maximize the space available so it felt larger than it was. I recommend booking one of the rooms with a balcony as it's a really nice place to relax and watch the town below. The bed has better than standard sheets, and is nice and firm. The air conditioner is modern, runs very quietly and effectively cools the room. But as all the windows have mosquito screens you may not even need to use the air con. (For the main door the screen pulls across from the left side which can be tricky to find. As the apartment is on the 4th floor you can feel safe leaving the windows open all day while you're out to let the sea breeze blow through the room.) The electric shutters can be used to fully darken the room, which is nice if you'd like to sleep in as the sun rises through the window. The balcony rooms have clothes drying lines, and the pegs are in the cupboard under the sink, there is also an awning which we didnt try to use. The limoncello shop on the ground floor has a wide variety of excellent citrus liqueurs, try the one with orange and anise! They also do gelati/sorbetti on the same citrus theme. In short, the hosts have thought of everything, and we would look to stay here first when we return to Cetara.

It wasn't an issue for us, but there was no bidet. That might bother some people? Also, the correct location is on google maps, which is much closer to the beach than what the booking.com map shows. This is actually a good thing, but something to be aware of when booking. The included breakfast isn't in the apartment, but is from Bar Miramare right on the beach a 3 minute walk away. Again, really this is a positive as it's a great bar and is a nice place to start the day with a cappuccino and cornetto, but you do have to get dressed and walk down to it which could bother some people. We went down with all our beach stuff and went straight from breakfast to the beach.

Only croissant and coffee which was inadequate

Climbing 4 flights of stairs all the time is unacceptable to elderly guests and also for carrying baggage up and down. This was very stressful
