This place, from Hotel to village and surrounding area just oozes character and historic interest. The view from the balcony is picture postcard perfect. The staff are great, and very engaged in getting it right. The breeze from the huge lake to the south combined with good old fashioned shutters and substantial old stone construction remove the need for air conditioning. After several nights in a tent and days riding a motorcycle through 30-35 deg heat I was worried but needlessly so. Air conditioning is actually a horrible modern way of dealing with heat now I think about it. It’s not good for you or the environment. This is one the the nicest places I have ever stayed.
If you like meat you’re in for a treat at the hotel or the other local restaurants. It’s Umbrian cuisine of course, and a great example of. If like me you don’t really like meat, you won’t starve, but don’t go to Umbria for vegetarian delights.

The most beautiful location. We where attending a family wedding close by and have to say this was an excellent place to stay. The staff are the best we have ever experienced on our travels and we travel a lot!! Need to give a special mention to Valentino who went above and beyond for us, even translating the menu to English for us. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. Highly recommend this place you will have the most amazing stay.

Charming historic property eclectic labyrinthine rooms very atmospheric and utterly old fashioned and charming

Breakfast was in the dining room close to the pool and overlooking the valley and Lake Trasimeno, the breakfast was typical Mediterranean breakfast.

Christian was very friendly and helpful. Good selection of food at breakfast. Room was a good size and we had a great view. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful.
